Like most of you know Boris has a player option on his contract for next year would earn almost 5 million if he exercise it. I wanted to know - is there a chance spurs could work something with him to lower his salary in exchange for few more years... This way it give spurs more flexibility in the market witch is very important as it may be Duncan last season that hopefully he could keep the high level...

Not to my knowledge. What's due is what's due.

But spurs could ask him to give up his option and then working on something, no?

We did something like that with Dick Jefferson but that was before the new CBA.

But actually I think its still possible under league rules.

Diaw just has to opt out and we give him something like 4 years/10mio.

He's already pretty cheap and has more than pulled his weight since he got here.

True and I don't really think he is going to sign for 2,5mio/year (unless its a 7 year deal which isn't possible)

That's a lot of weight to pull.

His defense on Lebron in the finals might be enough for some team with championship hopes to go after him.

:tu Not surprised he took the option, glad it's done and over with though. Diaw belongs on this team and pulls his weight.

awesome. he could have easily commanded a longer term deal if he opted out.
