I think she said those things...the fact that another white woman outed her is pretty darn conclusive...but when someone seems genuinely contrite (like she seems) forgiveness should be shown...yes she said racist things and have been around Southern racists her whole life...and those jokes are par for the course but I don't think that makes her nonredeemable...I have white friends that joke with me about racial shit all the time...but they never use the N word in my presence...but still tell racial jokes that I find tasteful... I tell racial jokes myself but I don't other people based on it...it is funny to watch the stereotypes on occasion.

There are many black people I simply don't care to be around...and like the southern white males with no front teeth living in abject poverty some of these blacks in certain areas I don't want to be around...I go to the hood to get my haircut but I'm don't fuck with a lot of dudes that come in their...some are just down right disgusting....I have no sympathy... I used to be down for the black cause 100% but no I'm like only 50% down...and it's mainly because I've been burnt... I let this dude cut my grass once he gave me the sob story...so I said ok brotha I will give you the job...he started out cool...he asked for a $1000.00 advance because his truck broke down...I gave it to him
then he would come and cut on Fri, weed eat on Sat, and then blow on Sun...I said hey what the fuck is up with this...the Mexicans don't do this shit to me... I told him to keep the 200.oo he still owed and never come back...then he said I wasn't keeping it real...

I know stories of white people that do the exact same shit so I'm not just ragging on the brothas...

If a damning new report from the National Enquirer is to be believed, celebrity chef Paula Deen is a racist. Lisa Jackson, a former general manager of Deen’s Savannah, Ga., last year filed a $1.2 million lawsuit against Deen, claiming that the celebrity chef used the N-word and that Deen’s husband was physically abusive. The case is now underway, and the National Enquirer reports that during three hours of questioning last month, when Jackson’s attorney asked Deen if she’d ever used the N-word, Deen said, “Yes, of course.”

When asked what she thought about casting black men as slaves at a wedding, Deen said that a restaurant she went to with her husband inspired the idea: “The whole entire waiter staff was middle-aged black men, and they had on beautiful white jackets with a black bow tie.”

“I mean, it was really impressive. That restaurant represented a certain era in America … after the Civil War, during the Civil War, before the Civil War … It was not only black men, it was black women … I would say they were slaves.”

But it does hit home that if this sweet ol southern belle have some racist tendencies, it makes me wonder about my white co-workers. We get along great. I met a white guy from Missisippi who told me that his whole family was a bunch of backwards ass rednecks and racists...I asked what about him and he said that he actually got the message of Jesus in his old baptist church..he said many people don't get it and continue to be clueless racists including his family...he seemed genuine to me...
