So who do you want coaching the Spurs next year?

The 3 main options :

- Pop

- Manu (let's skip the season where he goes 200+ minutes without making a 3 like Jason Kidd)

- Lionel Hollins (in his prime, improved the Grizz record every year)

Pop.

And how do you define prime for coaches, its not like their physicality affects them.

pop has to be beyond his prime. i've seen better coaching in middle school games than what he displayed in these finals. i don't give a damn how many titles he has, he makes bad decisions by gambling. just like belicic in 2008 gambed on the 4th down and it cost the patriots an undefeated season and the superbowl.

Chess players peak at 35 and then slowly start to decline. Pop lost it, his decision making is extremely slow, his in game adjustments are basically non existent...

What Riley is doing is smarter and gives his team better chances of winning, doesn't mean that he can't help if he's not HC anymore.

Not really sure about Hollins.
He does have the 1-1 playoff series record vs Popped.
But then again Popped gets worked by more then 1/2 the coaches in the NBA playoffs nowadays.

Hollins did have 50% of the talent Popped had....but then he got swept by Popped.
Naw, not Hollins.

Yeah let's go for Hollins, because screw the system and minutes management that got the team to the Finals despite lacking a lot of talent and while their best players are over 30. What the Big Three need is a cheerleader in a suit to motivate them to victory.

Let's see if the Spurs can offer a first-round big for Mark Jackson while we're at it.

Pop resting Tim and TP in crunch time of the game of the decade is the proof that he lost it... There's minute management and there's being a dumbass.

Manu can coach the same system let's be real... And Hollins can learn it.

And lacking what talent? Classic Spurs fan shitting on the best pf ever and the best pg in the nba in order to deify Pop.

Sitting TP and Tim in crunch time had nth to do with minutes management. They already explained why they did that, and apparently you didnt even bother reading, rather just question Pop's decisions, like you are a coach yourself, when you are just a lazy fat ass bum who seats behind the computer and do not even know how to play basketball

Pretty crazy that Hollins still doesn't have a job at the moment...

But ultimately my favorite is Manu because that way you kill two birds with one stone.

This seemed like a good thread for this. Can you name the former head coach of the Spurs to sign on as an assistant for the Bobcats?
