I know we are divided as Spurs fans with regards to keeping Manu or letting him go. How about a compromise that I think would work for both sides? Make Manu an assistant coach. Tell him its time to move on to the next phase in his basketball life and let him continue that process with the Spurs family as a coach. His basketball IQ is off the charts. When I see guys like Brian Shaw, Jacque Vaughn, Jason Kidd, ect...getting head coaching job...there is no doubt in my mind Manu could put it off. His best playing days are behind him though...time to move on. Let Manu take over the Budenholzer spot as #1 assistant...especially after Brett Brown leaves...and when Pop retires in 2-3 years...Manu will be ready to take over.

Can you still commit a horde of crunchtime turnovers if you're an assistant coach?

We should let Neal go and let Manu fill his role. And pick up some decent FA. Manu would be superior to Neal in that role.
