I doubt they land Smith. Letting Martin go was all about refusing to pay the tax and Smith is going to command something close to what Martin got.

People can criticize Martin all they want, but the bottom line is, Lamb is entirely unproven and Wright/Delfino (or whoever else of similar ilk they ultimately end up signing) can't create their own shot. Jackson can, but him next to Westbrook cramps their spacing.

So basically, they now have two scorers, neither of whom is a post up threat and on top of that, no discernible offensive system to help create easy shots in the playoffs when teams really have time to game plan for Durant and Westbrook. As talented, athletic, explosive and tireless as those two are, I think this makes the Spurs the clear top team in the West. It's not a massive gap and they're not immune to losing a series to them, but if they land Kirilenko, it's going to be extremely difficult for the Thunder to beat them, if they're healthy.

wolves looking like a decent team next season...if Love and Rubio can stay healthy.

Spurs lucked out overall...

They should of kept Harden and moved Ibaka at the right time. They have no bench and little money to do so unless the Amnesty Perkins or move Sef for a scorer in maybe an S&T (like Reddick)

They need a couple of more wings and the can be a playoff squad depending on whether Howard stays in L.A or moves to Dallas or Houston.

OKC still has the refs. They just didn't have westbrook to go into the middle last year to get those phantom calls.

I agree. Plus, I think N.Y has bird rights to Smith, they don't have them for Prigoni and Copeland. Smith can be re signed even on their tight budget. OKC can't promise him a big role like N.Y can or the money. Ibaka needs Westbrook to score, Perkins needs a miracle to be a passable offensive weapon. Collision is the best bench player they have and as a P&R guy, I don't think Jackson is gonna command the same respect Harden did running that. I actually think GSW could make a big leap. They didn't have a Lee & Bogut healthy at the same time. Thompson & Barnes seem like they can take a big jump in terms of production.

AK47 is versatile enough to guard and play both forward spots and would be a perfect backup to Kawhi and give us another big wing that we missed against Miami.

If not for how shitty the WCF was reffed in 2012, I would feel bad for OKC imploding right now.

They could've been one of the greats, they could'a been a contenda. But no. . .they didn't want to pay that extra 1 million a year to James Harden. :lmao

So true. Complete blotch by OKC. Good Lord.

Our window to beat OKC was in last years WCF and they pretty much rolled over us after the first 2 games. That was supposed to be it. OKC for at least the next 4-5 years was going to be the team to beat in the West. Then OKC deals away essentially a franchise player. They are going to burn Westbrook and Durant out in the next few years trying to overcome this..

They built their team with a 4 year tank job, and now they're letting it slip through their hands... actually they already did--you don't replace someone like Harden. There's no reason to place them ahead of the Spurs even when Westbrick returns.
