ATTN: 2013 Money League Players

Hey guys,

I'm gonna set up the league this weekend. We'll draft on Aug. 25th (3rd week of preseason) at 2:30PM EST that way we'll basically all be safe from fuckers getting injured in camp or PS games. If this is a conflict (shouldn't be this far in advance) with anyone please let me know because I'm open to moving the time or date to accommodate.

Another thing I wanted to ask you guys is would you be down with using LeagueSafe for payments? I've used it before and it's worked out pretty good for those leagues. If you win you get paid faster, and you can just run a free league on whatever site you play on so as to not incur administration and set up fees? The site is http://www.leaguesafe.com if you want to check it out. If we do this, I'll set it up to where a majority vote is required to confirm payouts (rather than me having full control as commissioner). I believe they hit you with a 3% surcharge on your entry fee so your buy-in would be $51.50, the money would be held by them until the championship game, and after the game is over we all go confirm that the payouts are going to the proper players and are for the proper amount, and then you can withdraw your money shortly after that. If we go this route, I will disable the commissioner reimbursement option when I set up the LeagueSafe for our league.

If we reach 12 teams and everyone pays, our pot is at $600. With that amount, I feel like this is a pretty good breakdown for the winners:

1st Place: $450
2nd Place: $100
3rd Place: $50

Please let me know what you guys think about this. I will also be PMing this post to the other seven managers who have claimed a spot to get immediate feedback.

His chances are very good so we are optimistic about his recovery and very thankful that we caught it at such an early stage, but I just wanted to let you guys know I haven't been sitting around looking at porn and plotting against Avante all week.

Solid point. I'm down for your second suggestion so that all four playoff teams win some dough. Since we're doing LeagueSafe we can get some more opinions from the other players in our league and decide that on our own time.

I'm ready to pull the trigger on creating the league RIGHT NOW (srsly I've been busy and slacking but that's da troof), but I had one last question for you guys. Do you want D/ST to factor both points AND yards allowed, or just points? Those of you who are more familiar with Yahoo are probably used to points-only D/ST scoring. I don't care either way. Just trying to give the people what they want, like DeadlyDynasty, my only demands were PPR and 6 points for pass TD.

Also, because I procrastinated on setting up the league for a couple weeks, I will allow a two week grace period following our draft. So now you gotta be paid up before the Week 1 Sunday games kick off. If you're not in college and can't come up with $50 in a six week period you're probably a douchebag.

Another thing...we still have four unclaimed spots in the league. Since no one's really speaking up for them here, I think we should consider reaching out to friends, but only serious players. Basically if you have a friend who has played fantasy with you before and became That Guy Who Quits Setting His Roster After Week 5, consider him blackballed.

Once I get some feedback on what you guys want for defense scoring, I'll hit the create league button and PM the link and password to all of you, as well as our LeagueSafe page.

Here's how the defense scoring is currently set up. I'm all for throwing out the yards allowed scoring and inflating the points allowed scoring by a small margin. I cannot adjust the ranges for either, but I can adjust the points scored for the ranges.

I've asked a lot of people if they want to play and people are either already in leagues or don't want to pay $50. I don't know what you guys want to do. Alternatively we could do a 10-team league which means we'd have to only recruit one person and also leave ESPN for Yahoo and still do LeagueSafe. Or if we can't find another player just do a goddamn free league since we can't get 10 people on SpursTalk to actually play fantasy football. Or just call the whole thing off, which I really don't want to do.

I don't think allowing people to play for free while the 9 of us already committed pay is very fair, unless somehow I could ban those players from qualifying for the postseason after they've signed up. In which case those players would become Johnny Doesn't Set His Roster after Week 2.

Good to know about the customer service. Used LeagueSafe last year but only had to deal with submitting my dues since I didn't win. Guys that won got paid quick too. It's really a great site to use when you are playing with people you don't personally know since who wants to send money to a commissioner they can't keep tabs on right? We could do 150/100/50 but those stakes are low as fuck for a championship game. Under my suggested breakdown, the guys in the championship game have a $100 difference riding on the game. Given our $300 pool, I think that's pretty fair. Idk. Get at me on some suggestions if you guys don't like that.

We could do 150/100/50 but those stakes are low as fuck for a championship game. Under my suggested breakdown, the guys in the championship game have a $100 difference riding on the game. Given our $300 pool, I think that's pretty fair. Idk. Get at me on some suggestions if you guys don't like that.

I'm gonna pay on Friday. The payment deadline is 9/20. I wanted everyone paid up by the draft, but I wanted everyone to be cool with the league settings, scoring, prize amounts and what not. I've had some douche commissioners that woulda been like fuck you J.T. I don't want PPR so we're not doing it when like every other player wanted it. And even though its the Internet, I trust everyone that's in this league to pay. Plus, the payouts on LeagueSafe are set to a majority vote, so if you don't pay and win, you ain't getting shit. I think it's a pretty bullet proof setup. There's also a $10 late fee (mandatory minimum by LS) so there's added incentive to pay on time.

We're all set for the draft. And once a few more people chime in on whether or not that prize breakdown is good, I have an official thread prepared to post in which everyone is encouraged to post in declaring their team name. We'll use the thread to talk shit to each other, notify people that a trade is up for review or just discuss random shit going on in the league from week to week.

League is split into two divisions. In each division, the division champion and runner-up will advance to the postseason, where the teams are re-seeded by overall record. Semi-Finals is Week 15, Super Bowl is Week 16. So four teams advance for a two week playoff. Speak now if you want a six team postseason. I don't. And if you do, you might be a redneck.
