"Manu took a pay cut" and "Manu got a market value contract" is going to be terrific bump material in the regular season for the anti-Manu crowd when Ginobili goes down for his annual injury.

I'm curious how many pay cuts that Manu has taken over the years before this offseason? Quite a few I'd imagine. OP needs to chill.

The "paycuts" are balanced out by how often Manu's been injured throughout his career.

Grant Hill, Andrew Bynum, Derrick Rose, Kobe Bryanr are going to have to payback some serious monies.

Bynum's a 7 footer...that means he's already going to be overpaid just based on his height. He also has an injury history.

Kobe, Hill, Rose were all super-stars without any injury history. They deserved those contracts. Manu's a third option type player that has a career average of 14.9 ppg. Don't know why you put him in the same tier as those guys.

He absolutely took a pay cut. Ginobili got ABOVE market value... probably by threatening to retire... and after his shameful performance last season.

Marco Belinelli should go tell Manu in Italian what it's like to sacrifice $$$ to play for a contender and not be selfish. Marco took one for the team. I love him already.

Manu did take a paycut. Splitter received what a solid center gets in the market. Some team would have paid Splitter.

Splitter took a pay cut when he left Spain to play in the Spurs....

He only took the paycut because he knew, somewhere down the line, he'd get a lucrative contract in the NBA just because he's 7 feet tall. Sacrifice a little early to make the big bucks later

If Manu was selfish he would've been in Denver a long time ago when he was a free agent and was benched in the prime of his career. He already won a championship why not leave for a team where he could be a starter. Instead he came off the bench for every SG the Spurs have had since he's been here.

I donīt really understand this signing unless we resign Neal to trade him along with either cojo or nando (or both) for a cappable backup point guard.
It is very clear to me that one of the biggest needs for the team is to have someone who can handle the ball so that Ginobili plays strictly off guard.

I believe Contracts cannot be signed til the 10th right?..Maybe Manu and Tiago will see that he took one for the team and save the SPURS a bit more money..Then we can Bulk our team up a bit more?..Mo Williams next!!!...

Manu took a paycut already, so it is kind of a weird point using him tbh. and Tiago's price was right at market value. Considering the circumstances, I agree with pulling the trigger on Tiago's deal
