As if we don't have enough players in the back court, Spurs are looking to add another in Anthony Morrow... what are the Spurs thinking?!?!

Maybe Marco Belinelli is on the trading block?

No more guards. I think that's not an option anymore anyways with the signing of Belinelli.

Reading the original tweet, it makes me think that Morrow might have been one of several people that they contacted yesterday. Maybe they decided on Belinelli, but talked with a handful before selecting him. Morrow is a career 42% 3 pt shooter. He would make sense as a potential Neal replacement.

It's unclear whether the interest is still there post-Belinelli.

That tweet was written near the time that Beli was announced. So, base it on their position before him.

Belineli just never fit in. I hope we don't regret trading him like we did Paul George.

That's kinda old news.

Didn't see a thread here, I figured I'd add it in. But I did miss the time stamp of when they signed Marco and when this tweet was given

There were still conflicting reports that Spurs were still interested in Gary Neal, even after signing Marco, so it might still be a slight possibility that they're letting Neal go and still trying to get someone to fill Neal's position (Anthony Morrow)?

I'm not sure there were a thread about it but it's not a big deal. It's just that it seems kinda moot with Belinelli signed.

Maybe Pop is just giving up on the idea of having bigs that can play the post on this team (other than Tim) and committing completely to the "small ball" philosophy? Maybe he is tinkering with going to a 3 guard alignment ala the Detroit Pistons in the Bad Boys reign? Who the hell really knows what Pop is thinking? I don't even know if Pop knows what he is thinking sometimes.

Good. He had no place on the team with the current SG depth.

move does not do too much for the pelicans (of course, having said that, morrow will now continue to set new career highs every time he plays the spurs)

In a way I understand the desire to acquire as many good shooters as possible regardless of whether they are SF or SG. The spurs offense needs the long ball to fall so at a certain point it doesn't matter if its a 6-5 SG or 6-8 SF. The real trade off is on the defensive end, and really not many teams not named Miami, OKC, or Knicks feature the SF as their primary scorer. For those teams that do, I expect Leonard will be more than up to the task.

To me what is attractive about AK isn't so much the depth at SF, but more so the versatility to play the PF if needed too. Thats clutch in my mind for what you want from a bench player: someone who can play more than one position decently. Other than him though, I just don't see that dynamism in the available SFs, and I would be OK with the spurs signing SG depth instead. Now of course if the spurs where to trade for someone else then that's another story, but based of the FAs out there, I can see the logic.

Pop and RC have been conversing with David Kahn about how to build an all guard team.

What the hell kind of drugs is the FO on?

I just cant follow where the hell they are going.

Thank God he is now out of our FO's clutches, but still the fact remains that they were interested.
