I have them somewhere between 2nd round fodder and WCF fodder, depending who else they get... what do you guys think?

2nd round tops.

Dwight already proved he can't fuck with Duncan....Tony Parker will run wild on Houston's backcourt...2nd round fodder nothing more

Their ceiling is getting pounded in the WCF. That's with the Josh Smith trade I'm assuming goes down soon.

Might be higher if they got someone besides J-Smooth tbh.

You know there are still moves to be made...so our ceiling is unknown until D12 signed the contract and the offseason's over.

2nd round, though they might be able to knock off OKC if Beverly plays Westbrick close.

Howard sucks, Lin sucks. But, hey this is NBA, a this is probably new highly praised, high tv rantings team. Anything can happen, and Harden can draw a foul or two.

They're falling into the same superstar trap it seems to me. Having two so-called "superstars" doesn't guarantee anything, they used to have two "superstars" but never got past the 1st round until MWP brought a pair of testicles to this team. They're probably making the 2nd round next season knowing that the west is much weaker than the 05-10 era, but don't see them surmounting the teams like Spurs, OKC and Monkeyball tbh

Not winning shit until McFail is gone. Probably need a legit PG also.

so now that Howard is no longer a Laker he finally learned post moves, shoot FTs and not be a bitch?

you guys were shitting on him all the time but somehow he's a winner now?

give me a break

Rockets will be decent but the Texans will rock to the Super Bowl.

GuerillaBlack

Failure of they don't make it to at least a 6 or 7 game series in the second round. Making it to the conference finals as the ceiling.

They'll make the playoffs.

They won't win the last game they play.

Let us proceed...

This. Rockets are a perimeter lockdown defender away from being a somewhat legit force

Yeah, very hard to go from a team with cap space to a legit contender. Future wheelings and dealings with Morey at the helm, along with added cap exceptions in coming years will determine our ultimate fate.

I'd have them as the 3rd best team in the West, tbh..

1- San Antonio
2- OKC

3- Houston
4- LA Clippers
5- Memphis
6- Golden State

15- LA Lakers

MilesTeg

Well presumably they won't be as dumb as the Lakers and won't go all-in for just one season... so within 3 years I think they can be contenders. Next year I don't think they'll amount to much.

do rocketfags still dream of 2nd seed in the west like the last couple of seasons?

I think they'll be a good team. They'll space the floor well, and be good on defense with Dwight down low. I don't think they'll gel enough as a team to make it out of the 2nd round. Rockets still need some pieces.

TE
07-06-2013, 03:59 AM
They'll be a great regular season team whose ceiling will be to take either SA or OKC to six games in a series (unsure about how good the Clips will be in the postseason).

Darkwaters
07-06-2013, 04:53 AM

I'm an even bigger optimist. They'll win 87 games in the regular season. Then another 23 in the playoffs.

These threads are meaningless imo. You just can't predict exactly whats going to happen, I think the ceiling is as high or low as possible. I'm leaning towards them being mediocore.

The one thing I'll say, and mark my words, your old problems always have a way of finding you unless you face them and conquer them. Dwight ran away from many of his issues once again, they WILL find him again in Houston. Go ahead and blame Kobe, D'antoni, etc etc...you'll see when he's beefing with that team and coaching staff that Dwight was a HUGE part of all this drama in both Orlando and LA.

I had the same talk with Philly fans when Bynum went there, they were convinced with the right system and team Bynum would flourish in Philly...we saw how that worked out.

I think they will be in the 2015 NBA finals. Take one year to figure things out, pick up some complimentary pieces next summer, and with Hardens/Dwights development they will be ready to beat anybody in their way.

i agree with your list. The top 4 is a toss up. I think the Grizz will regress unless they add another shooter. Randolph will only get worse.
