Sure LA lost Howard, that happens. Free Agents leave teams all the time. But how many teams are up with 28 seconds from a World Title and Choke it away?

Losing howard will not come close to the Pain of losing a NBA Finals in the last 28 seconds of a game you were leading in...

To make it worst, game 7 could've been won if Timmy hadn't missed a POINT BLANK Layup with NOBODY ON HIM....SMHHH

Spurs still weren't the greatest failure in sports history. They'll likely be back at the Finals again next year.

Laughing?

I say congrats to Lakerfan.

The Lakers now don't have to give a guy who got shut down by Ar:loln Baynes in a playoff game a max contract.

Damn, Lakerfan forgets that this was the season that the Purp 'n' Gold were supposed to waltz not just through the west but through the NBA finals.

Given expectations, 80% of the season spent under .500 and a first round sweep after limping gingerly into the playoffs has got to be one of the lowest points in Laker franchise history (roughly as bad as Kobe's other two low points; missing the playoffs and having another superteam destroyed in the '04 finals. Now with Dwight leaving after the Lakers org mounts a desperate campaign to keep him? Wow, this turmoil could be franchise-altering. With Jim Buss in control, I eagerly await the depths to which the organization might sink.

You talk about the Spurs 28 seconds choke job....and you are right. They DID CHOKE away the championship.

What's worse...choking away the championship with 28 seconds to go or choking away the championship in the 1st 10 minutes of the playoffs? Last time I checked...the Lakers were a helluva lot more than 28 seconds away from a championship.

Lakers fan talking shit....hillarious. Only teams that actually won a playoff game last year can joke about the Spurs choking...

this could be good for Lakers tbh, with Howard staying they would be mediocre without a chance for either a lottery pick or deep playoff run while now if they play their cards right they could easily get a good draft signing next year (like Bynum in 2005, maybe even better) and then with cap space get a big free agent and bam they are contenders again although i have little faith in Jim to pull it off

obviously Spurs fan will be thinking about :28 for a long time, it's just one of life's great ironies that our bitter rival got on all fours to take it up the ass Eagle, CO style, only to be dejected. I never imagined to see Spurs in the Finals this year, let alone blowing a Finals, I also never expected to see Lakers this rejected in my life. So just appreciating the yin and yang.

It's quite easy to laugh. The mere fact lakers put their hopes in Howard in the first place is laughable.

Statement from Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak
July 05, 2013 7:25 pm PDT

The following statement has been issued by Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak.

"We have been informed of Dwight's decision to not return to the Lakers. Naturally we're disappointed. However, we will now move forward in a different direction with the future of the franchise and, as always, will do our best to build the best team possible, one our great Lakers fans will be proud to support. To Dwight, we thank him for his time and consideration, and for his efforts with us last season. We wish him the best of luck on the remainder of his NBA career."

Why does Cubby keep saying six?

it's because of game 6. it's also the moment he decided to return IIRC. bitch wouldn't even show up if we won, he already left after the Lakerrs had one of the greatest flameouts in sports history, blaming Double-Up for posting some of his personal info instead of admitting he couldn't handle the shit he was going to get for $128,000,000. Now he brings up 6 to save face and trying to deny The Begging and The Rejection.
