will most likely take a paycut but not a huge one imo

i think his carrer depends now on how good will he be after the injury, if he's playing bad it wouldn't surprise me to see him go after 13-14 season

I would like to see 8-10.. but i doubt it will be that low, im assuming he will get something around 15 -17 mill. Assuming hes fine after the achillies.

And after he's paid Atlanta back.

imo he'll ask for every penny he can get. What, are the Lakers going to say no? If the Lakers won't amnesty him, they're not going to play hardball over salary either.

Doubtful he takes much of a paycut. But in order to make some cap space available, they spread it out for more years than he intends to play.

3 years, $60 million with the idea that he may just play 2 years and the Lakers pay him the additional $20M on the third year anyway.

I think Lakers/kobe will treat gasol like royalty this year. Kobe already started it with the bromance Instagram pic :lol . Their objective to get gasol to take a paycut while Kobe doesn't. :lol w/ two possible big FA's coming in

If he wants his sixth ring he will take 12 a year or less. That being said, me & Dale fully expect an attempt by Kobe Bryant to one-up Michael Jordan's ridiculesly high 33,000,000 dollar year (~40,000,000 with inflation).

If he really wants another ring he should join Miami for vet minimum, or a MLE at most, but he ain't ever gonna do this because that would hurt his legend badly.

That he'd be upright & justified for such would be my fondest reality. Ipso facto the amount is of no consequence.

Yup. 48 is like 8 and 6 multiplied together.

I've always maintained Bryant would be gifted a large contract, 48/2yr seemed to be an optimistic situation at the time given Bryant would take what he could get.
