I believe it's the same way with the MMA. Even though a lot of people dedicate 4 years of training to get into MMA, I believe all the people who climb into the ring have had previous experience in some form of martial arts, so it's not like an Average Joe climbing into the ring and learning how to fight in 4 years. Many fighters have had pedigrees in wrestling, Kickboxing, Karate, or some form of martial arts in the past. So to say that someone can just train 4 years to fight in the MMA isn't so much warranted.

We have video proof of old has been boxers getting into the ring with MMA guys and knocking there ass out. They don't always win, but they hold their own because even in an octagon, MMAers respect their punching power. At least boxers are willing to step into the octagon knowing they are going in without all the other training. Again, why won't an MMAer step into a boxing ring?

Anderson threw the fight. It was clear as a bell that he didnt take it seriously and wanted to get out of the limelight. I mean, he knew this guy was bad ass.....and to clown and drop your hands? He basically said, come and knock me the fuck out and take the belt. He could have taught Weed a lesson. Even in his clowning Silva showed he was clearly faster and could tag Weed at ease. MMA has it because you can use more than just your fists. If you miss a shot and get taken down, its over. The boxer would get his ass shaped into a pretzel and tap out like a massive bitch. Same goes with a Boxer only using his hands, and getting kicked in the mouf............lights out.
