It would have been funny if he had been a 3rd party candidate last year. He probably would have gotten 2 or 3 percent of the vote.

I don't think he sold out to Romney. He didn't run as a 3rd party candidate because he didn't want to hurt his son's chances in 2016. Can you blame him? And he didn't endorse Gary Johnson because he knew it would also hurt Rand's chances in 2016. Gary Johnson was a little shitty but at least he wasn't Obomney.

I'm not saying he sold out because he didn't run as a 3rd party candidate, I'm saying he sold out because of his lack of aggression against Romney in the primaries. Especially in the debates; he just attacked Santorum & Gingrich, yet Romney got unscathed by Dr. Paul. The same goes for much of the negative ads.
He was in effect, a old, mangled lap dog.
