Kareem: Dwight Howard is a perfect example of the fact that "potential has a shelf life." Laker fans should be patient and allow Mitch & company to prepare themselves to do some serious work in the free agent market.

Listen man...I was dreaming of Dwight coming to LA since 2009....unless that nigga has some sort of break through year in 2013-14 I just dont see his game developing much. Since 2009-2010 Lebron, Durant have gone to the NEXT level. Dwight has actually taken 2 steps backwards. I know Houston fans have a 12 o clock boner just like we did, but they'll see he can't win games for you in that 4th quarter.

It's extremely frustrating to watch a big man like him with stone hands, on an average 1 out of 2 times when he touches the ball he turns it over. Don't get me wrong, I'd love him on my team, but NOT for a max contract. Either way, Id be very happy if I was a Rocket fan...no hate here.

When a center is under 7 feet and relies on only physical prowess, there is no potential left after their physical prime. Nobody realistically believed Dwight will be the 25/15/3 player he looked like he would become at one point in his career after he entered the later half of his 20s and did not develop any technical skill.

He will have a better season because he will be healthier, but it will be an underwhelming season for him when compared to his Orlando days. His physical peak is past him, with no fundamentals, his prime will be as well in short time.

Here's m:lolre

Legendary big man and Los Angeles Lakers great Kareem Abdul-Jabbar ripped into Dwight Howard after he made his decision to join the Houston Rockets official. Abdul-Jabbar took to his Facebook page and wrote "potential has a shelf life," regarding Howard.

One of Howard's motivations to leave the Lakers and join the Rockets was to work with Kevin McHale and Hakeem Olajuwon directly to improve his low-post game. In L.A., he had Kareem, who had plenty to say about Howard's lack of post-moves and growth as a player in an interview with Scott Ostler of the San Francisco Chronicle in May -- well before Howard left the team.

"[Howard] hasn't made any progress. We (the Lakers when Kareem was an assistant coach) played them in ‘09, and when I saw him this past season, he was the same player," Abdul-Jabbar referred to the Lakers NBA Finals series against the Olrando Magic in 2009.

"He gets the ball on offense, oh, my god, he doesn't know what to do. It's usually a turnover, people come and take the ball from him or tie his arms up. Offensively, he doesn't get it." Abdul-Jabbar told Ostler.

Lol and now everyone's questioning what Kareem had to say. ESPN totally dissed the legend like he has no right to talk about Dwight and his limited offensive game. Lol at SAS calling out Laker legends on First Take like they have no right to talk about a Center that talked about winning championships for the Lakers and who bolted a couple of months later. Kareem is the greatest Laker of all time, he's forgotten more than Howard will ever know about the C position. And Kareem's a great teacher, he molded Bynum into the greatest big man today (a healthy Bynum is, we saw that last year and even then he had injuries) despite Bynum being a spolied brat who only cares about $$$ and not winning.

Kareem's right about B-Kemp's shitful offensive game, but still, "salty" is a generous word to describe how the Lakers are acting right now.... they're throwing a tantrum like a 3-year-old in a store who didn't get the toy they wanted :lol

GuerillaBlack

Lol Kareem wouldn't be saying this shit if Howard was on the Rockets. cant believe someone would leave the "mighty" Lakers. The saltiness has been entertaining. Laker tears everywhere. No nothing is wrong with the Lakers and the Rockets don't have a better constructed team than the Lakers for dwight....(not srs)

This is the truth here. It's a multi dimensional answer to what's going on. They knew without him they won't do shit this upcoming year, or nothing in the next 2-3 years possibly. But, his low post game is extremely mechanical.
