And people talk about serie A cheating... every single year Madrid gets gifts like this (barca has gotten some gifts in the past 3-4 years once they became darlings and the backbone of the spanish NT, but never like this).

and of course, Ronaldo is shameless and celebrates a(nother) fabricated penalty in the 5th minute of added time (3 awarded). why do they hate me :cry :cry

A journalist that knew Muñiz (the ref that gave the game to Real) as a kid said that he is a Madrid fan.

imho, football organizations should ask refs what team they root for and prevent them to ref the games of said teams (and the rivals of those teams).

It would be impossible to get any Barca or Real games under the books then. I think 99% of the Spaniards root for either one of those two.

Never like this, tbh. A gifted penalty given out of time (even added time) and not showing a clear red card to Ramos just because he didn't feel like it.

Idea is good and solid but nearly impossible. Then they just lie and say Valencia for example or some other shit. Can't prevent things like that penalty to happen.

The ref is now suspended for a few weeks i heard, correct?

Should be easy to research, tbh. Specially in the era of the social pages and all that. And if a guy is caught cheating you give him a hard punishment like never been able to ref again and maybe even some kid of bill to pay. Folks would think twice before lying, tbh.

The problem is Ancelotti trying to play a tiki-taka style with a bunch of monkeyballers on the team, he should have stayed with Mourinho's style of agression, pressure and counterattacks. Now the team lacks all of those things that gave them an identity and can't implement the new style 'cause they aren't suited for it. They're in nowhere land and unless they make some intelligent changes on the winter transfer window I don't see them being very succesfull this season.

Well it's a transition period ... going from Mou's style to a more offensive approach does take time

Historically, before Mourinho, Madrid had always been an offensive minded team; now they have to adjust after a few years of Catenaccio

Madrid was offensive minded with Mourinho, tbh. Only in a few games against Barce did they go catenaccio, other than that Madrid was a very offensive team under Mourinho but not tiki-taka offensive, they were more direct, more fast. That's what suits Madrid's players more.

Ribery: Zidane wanted me at Madrid

2013-11-11 3:29:00 PM

The France international has admitted his compatriot very nearly convinced him to move to the Santiago Bernabeu but insisted he is now settled at Bayern Munich.
Franck Ribery (http://www.goal.com/en-ca/people/france/6241/franck-rib%C3%A9ry?ICID=AR) has revealed that Zinedine Zidane did his utmost to try to persuade him to sign for Real Madrid (http://www.goal.com/en-ca/teams/spain/124/real-madrid-news?ICID=TOP_5-13).

The Bayern Munich winger claims that both los Blancos and Liga rivals Barcelona previously expressed an interest in taking him to Spain.

Ribery freely admits he was particularly tempted by the prospect of following in Zidane's footsteps and making the move to the Santiago Bernabeu.
"Barcelona and Madrid are very big teams and there was a moment when both teams were interested in me," the 30-year-old France international told beIN Sport. "I liked both but I had a moment in which I felt closer to Madrid than Barcelona. Zidane wanted me to go to Madrid and he tried all he could. But I am not interested now because Bayern is my family."
Ribery, of course, played a key role in the German side's historic treble triumph last season and is, therefore, considered by many as the frontrunner for this year's Ballon d'Or award.

The former Olympique de Marseille attacker will face stiff competition from Madrid ace Cristiano Ronald and Barcelona star Lionel Messi but Ribery fancies his chances of walking away with the prestigious accolade.
"I feel good about it," he said. "It is getting closer and closer. This has been one of my best years. I was lucky enough to win everything."
