Kobe doesn't care about winning. It's always been about him and it always will. He wants his records and signing a quality shooter would only take away from his 30-35 shots a game... :lol :lol :lol

Here's hoping they sign him to a 4 year contract worth $30M a year! LOL!!!!:rollin

As big of a douche he is off-court, he deserves 15-20 mil a year if he's still a top 5-10 player. Bible Kemp is getting paid like 20+ mil a year. Just being 100% honest here.

With max raises, after 4 years he could take up about 2/3 of the team's salary cap.... on a busted Achilles :rollin

tbqhimho, he still deserves good money. 30 mil is obviously a joke, but somewhere around 15 is more than fair

The fact that he would actually say something like that pretty much encapsulates everything wrong with Kobe.

Honestly to the Laker franchise Kobe is worth a shit load more than his salary, he makes them so much cash just by being Kobe. He won't be worth anywhere near 30 million in terms of bball play or even 20 million, somewhere near 12-15 million is about right, but in terms of what he rakes in for that franchise he is worth a lot more to them than 30 million imo

If there was no salary cap, Kobe would ask for $50+M and probably get it. But if he gets a max contract, he and Nash alone will take up $41M of a salary cap that should be around $60M next summer. Roster charges mean that they couldn't offer a max contract to a free agent. Even if they could convince LeBron to come over, they would basically have only minimum contracts to work with after that.

I hope he gets every last cent from the lakers he can. There is nothing better than watching the lakers spiral down a path of utter irrelevancy. :lmao

:lol DPG, my guy..

Kobe is still a top 20 player and he generates a ton of revenue for the Lakers, tbh..he has a cult following that literally threatened the life of the girl he raped and they live vicariously through him, tbh..if you allow him to leave, Al-Quobe will literally riot, it's not worth it for Lakers management..

The Lakers aren't going to contend for at least another 5 years IMO..it makes sense to give Kobe whatever he wants and allow him to stat-pad to the scoring record, Laker fans will eat it up, tbh..

That's what Shaq ended up getting in Miami, but that's not what he asked for from the Lakers. The reports I've read said he was angling for $30M per year from Buss.

You can argue that Shaq deserved $30M back then more than Kobe does now, but let's not skew a perception that Shaq didn't also want every penny he thought he deserved.

A max deal for Kobe would be $176M/5. Damn. He'd get $41.5 Million in his final season.

He should get paid. He's still a top 50 player, provided his Achilles gets back to 100%, of course

I'm sure LBJ wouldn't mind signing for the MLE.... :lol

He could convince LBJ to sign with the Lakers for the MLE based on the "I'm gonna teach you how to win 5" speech that I hear he's been practicing... :lmao

It's not like he doesn't want to win, he has just accepted the fact that he's stuck in a sinking ship and knows he doesn't have nothing to chase but $. Reality has beaten his huge ego beneath the ground

His ego won't allow the team to sign a scorer to supplement or replace him. He is also close to several records. He wants to pass up MJ in scoring and by as much as possible. If that means sinking the team, then so be it. He needs to take his shots and he wants every point he can make. Doesn't matter if he's taking 35 shots a game on one Achilles, he's gonna be the main shot taker. That said, in his mind he also wants the biggest contract in NBA history. He wants more than what MJ ever got in a single year and that's after you account for inflation. If it meant having 12 minimum contracts on the team + his contract, just to maximize how much he could make, he'd think it was a great idea.... and then complain to the team about not getting him talent!

Nothing is ever his fault. It's the Laker's FO for not signing the right support, it's other players not shooting the ball, it's other players not giving him the ball and he was injured...

I'm going to enjoy these next 5 years of Laker mediocrity... hahahahaha
