Freaking Hot. The girl that is to play the very beautiful Cho Chang is Katie Leung. She and Harry hold a crush for eachother, but nothing amounts of it.

Because deep in his mind, he likes Ginny Weasley, and she likes him back. They don't kiss and such until Half Blood Prince, which is 2 episodes after the one coming out in November.

Ya, ya...they are. Throughout the series, they have held a thing for eachother, they just could not express it. They were always mad at eachother, and wouldn't talk.

haha

harry potter is fucking garbage and as much as i like that people are reading..
i'd rather have them not

What is your problem with it?

travis2
07-20-2005, 12:00 AM
my problem?

the world is reading at a 5th grade level

Well, the early books were meant for that level. The basic age group being written to is (approximately) Harry Potter's age and higher.

As the series has progressed, and the characters have aged, so has the writing.

And so why would you rather have them reading nothing at all rather than this? It doesn't make sense.

travis2
07-20-2005, 12:03 AM
yes at least they wouldn't feel good about themselves for it

You are still making absolutely no sense.

Just because you don't think much of reading doesn't mean it's a bad thing.

Maybe you should actually try reading them instead of just bashing.

travis2
07-20-2005, 12:09 AM
i just don't like teenagers and adults reading complete shit and being fooled into thinking they're reading literature

if you don't understand that, then, well, im at a loss

Please. Nobody is calling it "literature". It's just a well-written series that's an enjoyable read.

And as for "shit", since you haven't read them, you are hardly a reasonable source.

travis2
07-20-2005, 12:15 AM
i read the first book and watched one of the movies and it's complete garbage

it's the quattro of books

I thought so.

As I said, as the characters age in the series, the writing gets "older". But since you haven't read them, you wouldn't know that. You only read the book that was written for middle schoolers and are judging the entire series on that.

The movies aren't as good as the books. But that's pretty common.

Now, if you actually read the books and then come back with some literary criticism...then we can talk.

Hey, that avatar was a gift!!

So, ElPimpo, what do you consider a great work of literature? I personally read the HP books because they are fun reading, not to reach some level of enlightenment or to beef up my vocabulary.

i heard somewhere that jk rowling stole the idea from someone but thats just a rumor

although the question is for pimpo....id say the best book ever written was the Brothers Karamazov by Fyodor Dostoevsky
