View Full Version : NBA: honestly, do y'all think dwight and hardon will win a title together?

there are duos where you know they can get it done and there are those who will be a failure. i don't think harden and dwight will win a title together.

a. dwight has no post game
b. harden is a chucker
c. dwight is foul machine
d. harden is a chucker

these two are like oil and water, they don't just mix. period. unlike great tag teams like shaq, kobe, kobe gasol, wade and shaq, harden will never be the player kobe was and dwight at best is like alonzo mourning (no offense to zo because zo has a post game)

i get houston fans are excited but these two are destined to fail and frustrate that franchise tbh.

Didn't that end in a divorce? I am not quite following. Harden should have bought a gym unknowingly in order to date a girl, when the only other case ended in divorce?

I mean, it's like telling Harden not to give the girl a cool mil like Shaq does so that he can end up in some interrogation room snitching.

Dwight and Harden are a great duo, however to win the ring it must be a team effort.

They have a good chance just as the Top 5 teams in the NBA... just gotta play together and make things happen

they probably won't win in their first year together, and it really depends on where lebron decides to play for the next 3-5 years

dwight has about 2-3 yrs tops after that we'll see a huge decline in athleticism. athletic big men declines faster than any other athletes in the league, heck most of them don't even last more than 5 yrs. dwight has no post game to rely on so he's screwed after 31 y/o, and hakeem olajuwon is not going to make miracles, i dont care if he uses voodoo, but dwight on his 11th yr in the league is not going to magically start learning post moves.

dwight is a glorified ibaka

Harden is going to have through the roof efficiency, like when he was with OKC next year. They can definitely win a title. Depends on how well the other young players on the Rockets progress. If Asik stays, thats 48 minutes of awesome defense.

Very little chance for the Houston Rockets to reach finals with their current roster, it would be overachieving if they reached the Western Conference Finals and were not swept. Stranger things have happened, Dwight may prove us all wrong and take his game to the next level.

James Harden's play next year will be a telling sign of their ceiling because he is required to step up his defense and playmaking to truly make that roster shine. Many people forget that Harden hasn't hit his prime and this will be his first full season as a #1. He is a bigger question mark than Howard.

Seriously, I don't really see Harden and Dwight getting a championship together until a few questions are answered.

Is McHale at least a decent coach (well, we all know he's not, so Houston has to get a champion-caliber coach)?
Can Osik fill his role as a cleanup guy next to Dwight?
Can Lin be an average PG playing off the ball? (ie. BJ Armstrong/Steve Kerr role)
Can Parsons step up his game and start playing defense?
Can the Rockets actually play any defense?
Was last year just a down year on Dwight, or was he really injured and lost his athleticism?

Pretty much everything has to go right for the Rockets, and I am not sure if any of them would.

That said, I think both of them will not miss the playoffs in their primes, nor will they need 50 FTAs to make the playoffs.

McHale is a shitty coach, but these guys aren't gonna be competing for a championship for a year or two anyways. Not until the Heat are aged and broken down at least.

Lin was the definition of average last year, I think the only place he can go is up. They'll probably be able to deal Asik for some good pieces. I wonder why they're waiting though, his value is only gonna go down imo. I'd probably say they'll see what pieces they need next year and then try to trade around for em with him.

Biggest question I want answered is if Dwight'll stop being such a faggot and just pick and roll with Harden and Lin instead of trying to force in his shitty post game

Is McHale at least a decent coach (well, we all know he's not, so Houston has to get a champion-caliber coach)? he's a decent coach, just not championship material.
Can Osik fill his role as a cleanup guy next to Dwight? YES, but he will be traded which is a grave mistake
Can Lin be an average PG playing off the ball? (ie. BJ Armstrong/Steve Kerr role) NO, horrendous efficiency and was never comfortable without the ball
Can Parsons step up his game and start playing defense? solid player but being overrated by the media since he's playing on a rookie salary tbh
Can the Rockets actually play any defense? possible. his 03-04 twolves were one of the best teams at the height of that franchise. but kg was the motor. in order for houston to be successful, the whole team needs to buy into dwights defensive approach.

Pretty much everything has to go right for the Rockets, and I am not sure if any of them would. i agreee

I think they're good for at least one title run but like Guerilla said, Harden would need an amazing run. Dwight must accept the fact he's not going to lead them like the traditional great centers who owned both ends of the court.

Dwight will not win a championship in his career.

Buddy Mignon

Both players are 3rd options on title contenders. Both will be allstars. Both players choke when it matters most. I just don't see why the big fuss over these two guys. Harden is not as good as Tmac and Howard is not as good as Yao. First round exit... book it.

Rogue
07-16-2013, 09:23 PM
They will dream of everything sleeping on the matress made of two "superstars" but at the dawn of next day they will still wake up in the trough before the 2nd round begins, more likely than not.
