View Full Version : Bucks waive Gooden under amnesty clause

The Spurs should look into picking him up. I know he was injured most of last year, but he had a resurgent year two years ago. Plus, he knows the Spurs system… and as always, it takes at least 1 year to learn the system (see Tiago Splitter). In his day, he averaged 12+ ppg and 8+ boards. I think he could provide some depth at the 3 and 4.

No thank you. The last time he was on our team I believe that we got our asses handled by the Dallas Mavericks in the 2008-2009 season. We were the #3 seed and we got upset by the #6 seed. Also, the guy plays ZERO defense.

Why is it whenever anyone is available some on here want the Spurs to sign him?
I bet when Blair is let go there will be some on here calling for us to sign him too!

I happen to like Gooden. He did well during his short stint on my fantasy team last year. He was on a team stacked with productive big guys too...

It was pretty impressive how Gooden learned the whole system in just the 23 games he played here.

No. Can't defend, doesn't fit our team. If he did we wouldn't have let him go in 2009.

Well, he does know the system and we all know it takes at least a year to catch on to the Spurs system.

Why bother? Pop will sit any good big in the last minute of anyway.

Chinook

I may be in the minority, but I think Gooden would be a good bench big. He'd be a great source of offense for a unit that really needs to get more of it. He's a bad defender, but that shouldn't be so bad next to Splitter and Duncan.

I'm not saying bring him in at all. There are too many bigs on the roster as it is. But had the Spurs amnestied Bonner and not signed Pendergraph, I think I would have liked Gooden as the fourth big.
