LAS VEGAS -- The Dallas Mavericks will be better off in the immediate future because they missed out on Dwight Howard, allowing them to sign several other free agents, owner Mark Cuban said.
"I think we've put ourselves in a spot where we're in a better spot than we were at if we got just the one max-out deal," Cuban told ESPNDallas.com during the Mavs' summer league game Wednesday night. "I think it'd be better shorter and longer term. I don't want to make that sound the wrong way. I think we'll be better this year because we added five good players or more."
Why can't this guy ever admit when he's wrong? He blew up a title team and spent two years trying to get Deron and Dwight, fails miserably, but instead of admitting he had a faulty plan he doubles down on the stupidity and says the team is better without them :lol then why did you spend two years chasing him in the fucking first place???????
Michael Jordan.

Should have just traded Dirk and started the tanking process tbh.

Because he's never challenged by Media. That's a blessing & a curse.

Agree with Mono just say I gambled and I lost. He is a great owner fans love him so just be honest, shit happens. You acknowledge and move forward by not admitting it the story never dies.

And therein lies the rub. He needs to sell tickets to the 13-14 season and there is a financial incentive to hold onto Dirk because you won't be terrible with him on the roster. But next year's draft is really deep even if you miss out on Andrew Wiggins. And as long as they have Dirk they won't have a shot at Wiggins. I just don't get all the money they committed to hold onto the 8 seed.

I think people in Dallas would still show up during a tanking season. More consistient fans than spurfan imo

I'm a fan of your work tbh but that was a very grey like statement IMO

It did save Cuban a lot of CASH though. Cuban is a businessman before a basketball fan and every decision he made was exactly based upon his own benefit imho. Dude splashed huge money year after year like a mad gambler before the year we rang, and it was reasonable for him to start cutting spendings when he already got a ring and the Miami Dynasty was imminent.

When have billionaires ever done this?
