They didn't draft Kobe, King. That was arranged by Kobe's people & NYC.

A draft day trade credit is given to the team the player goes to. Jerry west told the Hornets to draft Kobe. Also, that story was debunked by Jerry West.

According to Laker fans, Marc Gasol.

Absolutely, he was one of the best out of Europe ever. He was actually one of the first group of guys to really started the Euroball movement (along with Arvydis Sabonis, Drazen Petrovic, Dino Radja and Sarunus Marciulionus).

His contributions to basketball were better than many perennial all stars.

At least 7, I'd have to look it up.

Certainly more than SA, almost certain they only have 2.

Lakers didn't get many top prospects directly from the draft because they've been perching in the top flight since as far as I can remember. They didn't really have a chance to draft any top prospects in the past many years, nor did they have a coach capbale of turning rocks into golds.

The Lakers only scout multi time all stars on small market teams, tbh.

The Hornets drafted Kobe

And the Lakers also "traded" for that Magic pick.

Top 5 all-time Lakers were not even realistically drafted by them, they flipped a coin on that Magic pick.

If you're already counting Kobe, then 5: Ice, DRob, TD, TP, Manu.

Nando future HOF

Maybe if his French HS has a HOF, but he has a negative chance of making the Naismith...

Of course I'm not counting Kobe. The question was HOFers, not future HOFers, etc.

They didn't draft Kobe, King. That was arranged by Kobe's people & NYC. Exactly. Mr. Bryant, who has tried every way he can to be like Jordan, refused to play in Charlotte, NC. And if he played his career anywhere but LA, he'd be just another shooting guard with a 45.4% career FG%. LOWER than Monta Ellis' career FG%. Aside from the big men he's been able to play with, Bryant is nothing to write home about.

He wasn't going to be a house niqqa. And I don't blame him. You have one shot. Do what is right for you.
