Players who are supposed to be shooters that sucked? Or does this include bigs?

Including Bigs, maybe Rodman? He was terrible.

For players who are supposed to be actual shooters, assuming only dudes who at least got moderately decent playtime, statistically Stephen Jackson was among the worst any time remotely recently.

2012: 37.4% FG%, 28.8% 3pt%
2013: 37.3% FG%, 27.1% 3pt%

Awful, shitty stats for a dude playing 26 and 20 minutes a game each season. Dude had 2nd worst offensive rating of anyone on the team playing at least 400 minutes in 2012.

And last year in 2013, 10 points worse offensive rating than the 2nd worst (of anyone to play even 200 minutes. Still worst overall of people who even played 1 minute) and played over 1,000 minutes himself. Also had 5th worst defensive rating on team. With only Matt Bonner and our PGs topping him. Dude literally had negative 1.2 offensive win shares.

Not even close. He was, for example, a MUCH better shooter than Avery Johnson.

TC: The letter was written by my father-in-law. My wife, Molly, and I were in Belgium. Molly was pregnant and I asked her where she wanted to have the baby. She said “I would really prefer to be near my mother” who at the time was living in Austin. So we said “Fine, let’s go to Austin for the summer.” We actually moved in with my in-laws. One day my father-in-law said “Hey, you know Larry Brown, you know Richie Adubato.” Richie was the coach of the Mavericks at the time and Larry in San Antonio, as we know. He said “You should write them letters and let them know you are in town, in case they need somebody to play.” And I just laughed at him. I said “Dad, that’s not how it works. You can’t just write a letter to the coach of an NBA team and say ‘I’m here in case you want me.’ I mean these guys are busy.” He says “Well, if you’re not going to write it, do you mind if I write it for you?” So I said “No, I don’t care if you write it, but I’m just telling you that it’s stupid.” So he wrote the letter and sure enough, Molly and I are sitting in the hospital, in the labor room, and the phone rings. The nurse looks at me and says “That’s for you guys.” So I pick it up and say “This is Tom.” The voice on the other end of the phone says “Tom, this is Bob Bass, the general manager for the San Antonio Spurs, how are you?” I’m like “Hello Mr. Bass, I’m fine, thank you.” He started explaining that the rookie free agent camp was coming up, that he couldn’t promise me anything but he’d like me to come down and they’d give me a look, that they wanted someone to push Dwayne Schintzius around. I said “Mr. Bass, I’d love to come but I’m kind of busy at the moment, can we talk about this later.” He just started laughing, he knew that he was calling at a bad time. So he gave me the name of his administrative assistant, said “Call her and she’ll give you the plans. We’ll see you Thursday.” The next day we go home from the hospital, I literally drop Molly off upstairs in the bedroom, grab my stuff, get in the truck and drive down to San Antonio.

And Spurs fans want to bitch about how this team is run today.

A page full of bad shooting Spurs without mention of Alfredrick Hughes? (speaking of "And Spurs fans want to bitch about how this team is run today . . . . ")

Jason Hart was pretty bad. Jacque Vaughn couldn't score outside of 17 feet.

Bateer might be the worst player overall to ever wear the Spurs' uniform but his shooting ain't the worst, not even close imho. Bateer could hit 3-pointers and his midrange jumpers were solid enough for a big man. He was just too slow for NBA games which was the main reason he failed to survive in the league. Only if he could run as fast as grandpa Bavetta he would've been at a similar level to Yi and Wang Zhizhi imho.

This one is easy.... Spurs number 1 pick, 1985, 14th overall... Alfredrick Hughes.... this guys shot was so "flat" that it used to hit the bottom of the rim.... absolutely atrocious.... we wasted a number on pick on this "brick shooter"...

No he added a jumper one year, then went fully too it and got away from what he did best lol.

i think its unfair to choose centers for this list. because that opens the door for guys like splitter, mohammed, elson. this should refer to guys that actually attempted jumpers on a consistent basis

No he added a jumper one year, then went fully too it and got away from what he did best lol.I honestly believe Malik Rose adding a jumper to his game was one of the worst things that could have happened to him because that jump shot ensured his ticket into Pop's doghouse. I remember I used to love Malik Rose in 2003 when he used to be nothing but hustle, rebounding, and finishing at the rim, very similar to Dejuan Blair.

As we've all seen, a jump shot is not always reliable because shooting comes and goes. Malik stopped doing what he did best because of that jump shot. Offense comes and goes but defense can always be relied upon.

Acquiring Robert Horry was also part of the reason why Malik Rose went into Pop's doghouse.

Malik is very similar to Blair in the fact that they both love multiple pump fakes and SA fast food.
I would still choose Malik's mid range jumpers over Bad News Blairs pick n roll floaters and social media emo posts.

Cadillac Anderson was a pretty good brick layer.
