However, from 99-2003 Duncan had won 2 rings and he was about 6 years younger than Shaq then and Spurs owned Lakers in 03 so there's that. I think Duncan and Shaq from late 90s to 2003 were pretty close in my opinion. Though Shaq obviously was dominant with his 30 point 15 rebound averages in the playoffs.

Tim held a franchise together and shaq got his 3peat while the spurs were in transition as the Admirals game was in rapid decline.
