They'll find a way to beat it, although we should see some slip up. Tons of boxers are on that stuff and they get tested randomly, they hire pros to help them appear clean on the tests.

Guys like Wade have to be covered up. Otherwise the league goes into the sink.

League policy for testing right now is so lax, nobody's ever going to get caught unless they're a complete bonehead. Fuckin testing once a year and giving players a heads up WAY ahead of time so they have plenty of time to flush everything out of their system.

So what's this do for LeBron and company? Nothing, because the NBA isn't serious about abolishing drug use since most their most marketable players are probably on it if not all of them. I don't think they'd cover it up if a guy tested positive, but I don't see them seriously going after any marquee guys, especially if they play for LA, Miami, NY, or Boston.

If Lebron would test positive the league would never allow it's golden boy the shame he deserves.

All players are subject to four (4) random tests each season (from October 1 to June 30). All players are also subject to two (2) random tests each off-season (from July 1 to September 30). All such tests are scheduled and conducted by an independent, third-party entity and are without prior notice to the player. The NBA and the NBPA are not involved in the scheduling of any tests or the selection of players for testing.

The biggest issue with NBA testing is the lack of transparency. While the NBA claims to use a third party to conduct the testing, they don't necessarily want to disclose who this third party is. Furthermore, the third party has to eventually alert the league about any positive tests, and it's up to the league to act on that (the whole thing obviously happening in complete secrecy). There's obviously other issues like microdosing, etc, but if you don't address transparency from the get go, it doesn't matter if you're catching anybody.

Some players are tested during summers when they play for their NT and I'm quite sure FIBA is testing HGH.

The new CBA has made a small step in the right direction regarding anti-doping but the NBA has still a long long way to go.

Yep, especially since they won the last two titles. The NBA would be damaged a lot more than other sports if their top guys got rolled for PEDs because only 5 dudes play at once, as opposed to 9 at once in baseball and 11 at once in football. Rotations of 8-10 dudes per team in NBA vs ones typically of about 22 in baseball and 30 or so in football.

Any stars getting rolled in NBA is almost equal to 2-3 guys getting rolled in another sport. People are definitely using. . .let's see if anyone gets caught this time.

Good. New policy for fuckin once. NBA anti-PED policy before was worse than trash.

I've been saying this for a while now but I truly believe the NBA wouldn't allow Lebron's tests, even if they come back positive, to hit the streets. The Golden Child can't be touched....

Lebron and Howard have been much larger than their peers since they were in HS. If they are on HGH they would have started taking it in their teens which is possible but unlikely.

Wade is the only obvious offender.

At some point someone is gonna get caught, and if this player gets suspended, he will start talking about other players, Lance Amstrong style.

I was 6'0 155 pounds when I graduated from High School. In my mid 20's I was able to put on quite a lot of muscle in the gym and I never even drank protein shakes. Not every in shape or large athlete is using HGH or roids..

Lebron strikes me as more genetically freakish than steroid-abusing. I think he's clean.

Wade seems quite suspicious though. It's impossible to ignore the shape of his head, and furthermore how that shape has changed over the years. Barry Bonds-esque.

if wade gets away this season scot-free, the nba is clearly protecting their stars. even then the nba won't ever vacate a teams season like the ncaa.

The other huge thing is that taking your 4th test means that you know you have a free pass from then until the offseason.

Absolutely zero stars will ever get busted for HGH, Wade and Kirby are the most obvious juicers in the league though....

Couple things here...

1. You gotta have your head in the sand to think NBA players (or any professional athlete) isn't on a PED that's either not tested for, or the testing is very loosey-goosey. Duncan had an amazingly resurgent year that most 36-37 year olds never have. I know we'd like to think it was hard work and Jesus Christ that kept him healthy and at peak form, but let's be real...

2. Do people really still give a shit if a player juices, or is it just righteous posturing?

atoyotagaspedal

Doesn't matter tbh, the league will let players like Kobe, Lebron and Wade get away with it since they are marketable. The only people they will pin this on is nobodies just to show they enforce this rule.

There'll be plenty of fair warning so Bryant can line up his fake piss cups. Stern will make sure he can still freebase all the HGH he can squeeze into them veins.

LarryDavid

Yeah, and Duncan's success this past year was all due to his weight loss.

I give a shit because if it goes unchecked it creates a culture where guys that don't want to juice are forced to do it just to stay competitive.
