No ill will towards Neal but it was time for a change.

The real reason there are questions about the off season though is because the reasons/excuses the Spurs seemed to use and how it made very little sense. It's not just about Belli>Neal, the question really is would you rather have Neal + Full MLE player vs Belli/Pendergraph. The reports were the Spurs didn't think Neal could be had for as cheap as he was so they moved onto Belli and it appears the Spurs gambled and lost or they were lying.

7 million for two years is equal to 2 years 5.6?

Last I checked that's not "equal"

Really hope the spurs can get a trade exception for Blair now. Seems like the only chance of signing a non-vet min SF

Yeah for some reason they made the decision that they didn't want him back.

Not sure why but they clearly wanted to get rid of him.

Neal was Sjax best friend so maybe he was one of the more vocal about Pop retarded thrust in Turnobili...

Can't be the defensive problem given that they hardly signed an upgrade on that end...

It's puzzling tbh, has to be about some behind the scene stuff...

No puzzle. Neal is as worse defensively as you can get. It's an upgrade as long as Belinelli can defend a guy without a shoe.

Yep. If you can defend a guy without a shoe in the NBA finals, then I want you over Gary Neal. I'm still pissed at Neal and his defensive lapses at critical times of the game.

It's too bad the Spurs will get absolutely nothing for Neal, or am I wrong about that?
