He's coming through Texas in October/November. Anyone been to one of his shows? I'm going to try to catch the one in Tyler.

For a second I thought he was dead when I saw the thread.

PCU soundtrack ftw
I remember a time when Comedy Central played that movie at least twice a day, for what felt like 3 years straight.

HBO did that in 95 right before I went to school

I went to the original G3 tour show at Sunken Gardens back in like '97. Steve Vai was awesome. He's a showman for sure. If you're a guitar fan it's worth it see him.

Vai is an awesome technician and a world class virtuoso...
Unfortunately, for me anyway, his music just doesn't do much for me even though I appreciate his genius.

If you don't give me attention - I will be forced to use my other troll account because I am failing with this one.

Went last night. Best live show I've ever seen musically. If you love great guitar, it should be on your bucket list.
He'll be back through Texas in late November.

His incredible band is on the 2010 Eric Clapton Crossroads Guitar Festival DVD.

He's a phenomenal musician but he's just too over the top for my tastes. A little too show-offy for me. I prefer his teacher way more.

A guitar virtuoso. Worth it to see him live.

He's great, but Satch is better and Eric Johnson is better than both tbh.

Who told you that? I would love to see Satch and Johnsie playing some Zappa.
They are masters of their own kingdoms, Johnsie could never make Passion & Warfare or Satch Venus Isle or Vai Surfing With The Alien.
