Alright, I kept hearing this from the beginning of the playoffs, from the Thompsons, and if you hung around these guys at all during GTGs or Roudtables, they kept saying it.

WHAT IS THE STORY BEHIND IT!!!!

UTSAGOLFPB could give a great explanation.....

it was a sportscaster from a college station in Indiana that just really cratered on air. He was reading a highlight of something, I think a basketball game and something happened and he nervously said "and boom goes the dynamite" as a catch phrase...really painfully to watch.

there is a video where a doofy kid sports commentator is going over the previous nights basketball highlights.

after a made shot, he goes, "and boom goes the dynamite"

Is that the clip its like

Nash ahead to Stoudemire, he shoots the three, and (really depressed sounding) boom goes the dynamite

lol

the rest of the jokes that came after that, is inside stuff....

Here's some of the back story.

It's not as funny when you realize this was a college freshman broadcasting on a student-produced news show... I think a lot of people have just assumed this was a network news sportscaster.

What's really funny is that after they discussed that clip on the Ticket in Dallas, the Mavs won in a blowout (I forget who they were playing) and Mark Followell (sp?) actually used it in a game.

:lol

Man, I can't even use one of the show tapes from when I anchored because my co-anchor screwed up so many words.

Being in front of that camera when it's hot is not an easy thing to do. I think what I always tried was to not even think about anything but reading the words.

I'm having trouble even watching this since I know what it's like when that prompter dies or the person running can't keep up with you or you simply fumble a word. It's like a snowball rolling down a hill. You just pray you don't continue to screw up.

Thankfully, Dr. England didn't post the bad ones on the Web site.

I don't even think I can finish watching this.

Thankfully, we didn't use the system they did at Ball State with the pre-programming. It's all audio/video operators going off XD's commands at Bobcat Update.
