Detroit literally throwing money everywhere and hoping it results in winning.

I thought they had a good thing going with Monroe and Drummond... then they throw big money at Josh Smith and Brandon Jennings

Who is Pistons coach ?

Oh, they paid big money to uncoachable monkeyballers, and gave it all to the hands of black coach. Disaster is waiting to happen

Maybe they try what the Clippers did and play Billups at the 2? Although I really think Chauncey is better suited to a bench role at this point.

Detroit gunning for an expensive 8th seed

I don't like Jennings at all so I'm not excited to watch him run and chuck. But I love this trade because of what is involved. Detroit trades Brandon Knight and two scrubs and the contract they'll be signings Jennings at is believed to be 3 years and about $25 million. It's nowhere near a max deal and not even a 4 year contract. And Jennings is way better than Knight. Upgrade at the PG position and a very reasonable contract. I'll take a player I don't like because of those factors. Brandon Knight has disappointed a lot his first two years and he showed very little signs or flashes of improvement or elite talent. Jennings is a chucker but also an obvious talent. I'd rather that over Knight. And $8 million versus what he was supposedly asking for at the beginning of free agency in the $12 million per range for only 3 years is also a plus.

They're still devoid of a real franchise player to build around imho, and the signings of this summer (Jennings and Josh Smith) won't turn out to be much better than the pair of signings of Gordon and cancer patient a couple years ago.

Good thing we have Chauncey as a 2nd coach. Maurice Cheeks is way too soft these young players will walk all over him. I think they Pistons will be a 5-8 seed this year only assuming Chauncey is able to stay healthy.

I am not certain exactly what the Pistons are attempting to do right now, perhaps build star power in order to turn a profit?

It's gotta work out better than Gordon and Villenueva.

thats not saying much. luckily gordon is already gone, and stucky and villa are expiring (16.5 mil combined). monroe is going to get PAID next summer though

:lol Pistons
:lol stupid franchise signing 2 chuckers who weren't anything special as free agents
:lol at not just tanking for next years deep draft

If the team doesn't implode then they'll be a competitor in the pursuit for the last playoff seat, it doesn't mean much though, when 1/2 of eastern teams are going to tank. :lol East

tbh i think they made great moves this offseason, assuming Billups will play the two and smith the 3, it makes a starting five of jennings, billups, smith, monroe, drummond. Billups can easily defend the two and play off the ball for jennings to keep going to the rim, the frontcourt is scary from an athleticism standpoint and while it lacks brain, monroe can ball a lot. We may be seeing a new top 5 defense from the get go. The bench isn't terrible either with bynum, pope, singler, jerebko, mitchell. They aren't winning shit, but it's still a massive upgrade and makes them relevant again.

6th at best barring any significant injuries to main players on other teams in my opinion.
