Sen. Rand Paul slammed Chris Christie’s on Tuesday, calling the GOP governor the “king of bacon,” adding another jab in a string of attacks the two Republicans have thrown at each other in recent days.

“This is the king of bacon talking about bacon,” the Republican from Kentucky said on CNN’S “The Situation Room.” “You know, we have two military bases in Kentucky, and is Governor Christie recommending that we shut down our military bases? … No what this debate really is about is that in order to have enough money for national defense, which I think is a priority for the government, you have to be willing to cut spending in other places, and Governor Christie and others have been part of this gimme, gimme, gimme, gimme all this money.”

Christie called Paul out earlier in the day:

"I find it interesting that Senator Paul is accusing us of having a gimme, gimme, gimme attitude toward federal spending when in fact New Jersey is a donor state, we get 61 cents back on every dollar we send to Washington. And interestingly Kentucky gets 1.51 on every dollar they sent to Washington," Christie said. "So if Senator Paul wants to start looking at where he's going to start to cut spending ... maybe he should start cutting the pork barrel spending that he brings home to Kentucky."

"So maybe Senator Paul could, ya know, deal with that when he's trying to deal with the reduction in spending on the federal side," Christie continued, "but I doubt he would because most Washington politicians only care about bringing home the bacon so that they can get re-elected."

Truth bombs, Rand is the classic GOP party-line shill.... sadly, an embarrassingly large part of Ron's base thinks Rand is the real deal and is willing to vote for him :lol

Unfortunately it's also because Ron wasn't gonna betray his son (apparently that doesn't go both ways :lol) so he wasn't left with much of a choice when Rand used him to get in the spotlight. Ron could have shut the whole Rand movement down in a 10 minute speech, but unlike Rand blood runs thicker than water with him :lol

Sad part is he is propped up by the media/political intelligentsia class as the great libertarian hope.

Well, porky knows his fat...

Jokes aside, I would still vote for Porky... I mean Christie, over any democrat I can think of who might get the nominee.

When will I be able to actually vote for my choice again, instead of the lesser of two evils?

When I grow up, I want to be the King of Bacon! Every Christmas, I'll make it mandatory that a bacon nativity scene is in every government owned property!

Paul Ryan?
Doubt it. Ryan voted against the Amash amendment to curb the NSA's ability to Hoover up data and we all know WC is a staunch defender of individual civil liberties...unless of course it's a corporation infringing upon said liberties, at which time it's not only ok, but encouraged and necessary.
