View Full Version : Was Tony Parker the 3rd best PG in the NBA last season?

Someone made another thread about Manu being the 3rd best SG in the NBA and of course a lot of Manutards bought into that shit. According to the Hollinger stats on ESPN, Manu was indeed the 4th best SG in the league last season behind Wade, Kobe, and Harden. Since the Manutards use the Hollinger PER stat to support their theory about their God Manu, I want to ask the Spurs homers another question.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of Spurs homers think that Tony Parker is the best PG in the NBA. Well according to Hollinger, Parker was the 3rd best PG in the NBA last season. Are you Spurs homers willing to admit that Chris Paul and Russell Westbrook are better than TP?

I myself don't have too much of a problem with Hollinger's PER stats because according to them, Tim Duncan was the best PF last season which I already knew of course and I don't need some statistician to confirm what my eyes see. Keep in mind that the PER stats don’t really take into account defense. According to the Hollinger PER stats, Carmelo Anthony and Brook Lopez are better than Tim Duncan.

So Manutards and Spurs homers, what is your opinion on this matter?

He was not just the 3rd, he was the best before he suffered an injury late in the season.

At first you're hating on Manu, now on TP? Who's next? Tim, for missing the game 7 layup?

I'm just pointing out that when the stats favor you homers (Popsuckers & Manutards), you'll are quick to agree such as Manu being the 3rd/4th best SG in the NBA. When they don't favor your team, you'll are quick to disagree. :lol Pussies... homers... smh.

And, yes, Tony may have been the 3rd-best PG in the NBA last season. Tbh, no statistic is perfect.

Well you're a hatertard.
You sure refuted him there. So much for being in a position to criticize others for not talking basketball tbh. :lol

Never seen someone get as much love without winning anything close to a big game as Chris Paul.

I personally thought that Tony Parker was the best point guard in the NBA until he had that injury.

I'm just pointing out these stats to illustrate how quick some Spurs fans approve of these stats when it comes to Manu. Manutards use these stats as proof that their God is a top 4 SG in the NBA.

However when it comes to TP, some Spurs fans are quick to disapprove of these stats. Just because these stats don't show Parker at #1, then the PER stats are wrong according to some Spurs fans.

The point of making this thread was to illustrate how PER doesn't tell it all. Even though the PER stats show Manu at #4, if Manu were to play as many minutes as Wade, Kobe, and Harden, we all know that Manu wouldn't be as effective and he would probably be an above-average SG in the NBA.
