View Full Version : Lakers: Whose fault...

Michael Jordan.

Is it that the Lakers have been skunked three years in a row?

Have a grand total of 1 postseason win in 3 years?

Have been skunked twice by Tammy?

Is it that Howard left for nothing?

Is it that the Lakers hired a coach who's never made the finals?

Is it that no one wants to play with Kobe?

Is it that the Clippers have become the better franchise?

Stern for vetoing the CP3 trade?

Jim Buss for dropping acid when making organizational decisions?

Jerry Buss for rolling over?

Three primary reasons:

-Pau Gasol had a sharp decline.

-Kobe Bryant is too ball dominant and inefficient.

-The front office moves, starting with bringing in Steve Nash, have been questionable at best.

The Lakers suffered a chain of unfortunate events stemming from front office decisions, age and chemistry.

The firing of Brown
Trading Odom for capspace
Sessions not re signed
Blake for the full MLE
Nash for 3 yrs + giving up whatever small assets they had

These are the moves that doomed them

The Lakers mortgaged their future during the fat and happy championship years, trading away assets and picks for championship pieces and giving out huge contracts to ensure that top players stayed. Now they're paying the price in the form of declining overpaid players and no decent draft picks or alluring trade bait.

That falls on Kupchak's shoulders.

Pretty much.

Easy: There's been no titan centers to enter the league in well over a decade. Howard is a joke. Shaq came to LA and that brought them success. That success was parlayed into getting Pau, one of the best bigs in the league at the time. His success was parlayed into getting Howard, but Howard is no Shaq and not even as effective as prime Pau. The Lakers got big center happy and got stupid about it. Kobe's "right place/right time (Colorado notwithstanding)" luck put him in the middle of that run and so Laker fan, ever so hungry for more cock to worship (face it, most of California is Gay or at least bi-curious) found their lips firmly around the black mamba. Now you have an analogous situation to a 50 year old Rick Flair trying to win the coal miner's glove but he's too fucking fat and drugged out to make it even look interesting. Kobe is done, oh he'll score some useless baskets to pad his "legacy" stats and the pundits will gush about his accomplishments and most every article will have at least one "it's not fair to say Kobe was the 2nd best player during the 3 peat years" or "though some might say that Kobe did more to hurt the team than help it..." lead ins but we all will know the deal. Kobe is the corporate offering of a clay figurine of Michael Jordan. It's almost as if China tried to reverse engineer MJ and their failed project (Kobe) gets pushed at the audience as if he's the real thing. It reminds me of when Darren left Bewitched and they substituted that other guy and expected you to accept he was the same person, or like Joe instead of Curly (Shemp was actually funny but face it, Joe was a faggot).

Whose fault is it that they failed to win even a game in the playoffs with a 128m payroll?

The firing of Brown

Are you kidding? The firing of Mike Brown was one of the best moves Jimbo did. Hiring Mike D'Antoni was an equally horrible mistake when there were other coaches.

Whose fault is it that it takes 5 hours for someone to call BS on all of the below:

Is it that the Lakers have been skunked three years in a row?

Have a grand total of 1 postseason win in 3 years?

Is it that no one wants to play with Kobe?

Is it that the Clippers have become the better franchise?

MJ, you're slipping bro. Failing on 4 out of 7 points?? That's very Bobcat-esque of you. C'mon, I've come to expect better of your trolling.
