Im not going to claim to be from the best neighborhood myself, but buckhead is a special type of ghetto. A league of its own sort of speak. I can't imagine that school being in that neighborhood tbh. They should have invested that money in better teachers or better books or something.

Edit: Correction, I was thinking of Bankhead which is a different neighborhood. I dont believe I have ever been to buckhead tbh.

Isn't Atlanta one big black area?

The highschool I attended was worth at least 200m at that time, and its value can only be bigger in today's market given the high inflation rate the past many years. No meaning how great it looks but its brand alone is worth 200m imho, like everyone in our city admires that school and regards it as the best within our metro. Damn shit's even higher than most colleges here for most citizens tbh. History and culture of a school are worth more than its buildings imho

There's a lot of wealthy black people in Atlanta.

There's a lot of wealthy black people in Atlanta.

It's the only American city with a prominent and thriving black middle+ class.

Buckhead is not a "black area"

I travel to Hotlanta quite frequently. I go straight to Lenox Square in Buckhead for a reason.

EDIT: I missed this:

Edit: Correction, I was thinking of Bankhead which is a different neighborhood. I dont believe I have ever been to buckhead tbh.

:lmao yeah, bankhead is a very different place. That's the brokedown ghetto where TI is from.

Not really. The black people in Buckhead are funny though, because they hate black people. It's one of the wealthiest areas in the country.

Is it the ghetto where the movie "A.T.L.", the one where T.I. is an aspiring comic book writer who falls in love with some trick named "New-New" and she turns out to be a rich girl, is supposed to take place :lol

That was easily the most unintentionally hilarious movie I've ever seen.

Since at least the 1950s, Buckhead has been known as a district of extreme wealth, with the western and northern neighborhoods being virtually unrivaled in the Southeast (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southeastern_United_States). In 2011, The Gadberry Group compiled the list of the 50 wealthiest zip codes in the United States, ranking Buckhead's western zip code (30327) as the second wealthiest zip code in the South (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southern_United_States) (behind Palm Beach (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palm_Beach,_Florida)'s 33480) and the second wealthiest zip code east of California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/California) and south ofVirginia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virginia).[15] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-15) The same group reported the average household income at $280,631, with an average household net worth of $1,353,189 [16] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-16) These 2011 figures are up from a similar 2005 study that pegged Buckhead as the wealthiest community in the South and the only settlement south of the Washington D.C. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/District_of_Columbia) suburb of Great Falls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Falls,_Virginia), and east of thePhoenix (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phoenix,_Arizona) suburb of Paradise Valley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paradise_Valley,_Arizona) to be among the 50 wealthiest communities in the country.[17] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-17) However, according to Forbes Magazine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Forbes_Magazine), (30327) is the ninth-wealthiest (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wealth) zip code in the nation, with a household income in excess of $341,000.[18] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-18) The Robb Report (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robb_Report) magazine has consistently ranked Buckhead one of the nation's "10 Top Affluent Communities" due to "the most beautiful mansions (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mansion), best shopping, and finest restaurants in the Southeastern United States (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Southeastern_United_States)".[19] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-19)[20] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-20)[21] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-21)[22] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-22)[23] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-23) Due to its wealth, Buckhead is sometimes promoted as the "Beverly Hills of the East" or "Beverly Hills of the South" in reference to Beverly Hills, California (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beverly_Hills,_California), an area to which it is often compared.[24] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-24)[25] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-25)[26] (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckhead_(Atlanta)#cite_note-26)

"Rashad (T.I.) is a teen living in Atlanta with his Uncle...Rashad is a talented artist but does not see much of a future in that field...Rashad and his friends are also a skate crew, known as "The Ones", on Sunday nights at Cascade, a skating rink where local teens hang out. While there, Rashad catches the eye of New-New (Lauren London), a round-the-way girl with a mysterious background, since he only sees her around when she is hanging out with her friends Veda and Star. The two become attracted to one another and they later kiss when he gives her a ride home in his Chevrolet El Camino. "

:lol why on earth would you ever watch that movie?

I just cant envision a scenario where a bunch of Jews are sitting around a big conference table reading this script and decide among themselves that this film needs to be made.

Oh come on, they knew they could make money off all the blacks that would go see it and filming in the ghetto = low production costs

Pretty sure in those days, 146 bucks to build a school was considered cheap, but I could be wrong.

Hell, just up the road in Allen they recently got done spending $60M ... on their football stadium.

Allen, which values the educational experience of its children, is willing to spend money to enhance that experience. That commitment is evident in this stadium.

It ain't like I actually went to a theatre and saw it :lol.

It was on TV and after watching it for 5 minutes I realized I was in for 90 minutes of hilarious unintentional comedy. It didn't disappoint.

Most of the "rappers turned actor" have flopped horribly. The Game is surprisingly the only one I've seen capable of acting gangsta and not coming off corny as hell in the process.
