That's right. The greatest PF of all time once again shows that he is a class act by teaching Roy Hibbert a few moves and working out together just like they did last year. Maybe Hibbert can repay the Spurs organization by signing with them in 2015 which is the year that Duncan and Manu will probably retire. The Spurs will have a lot of cap space by then.

Jim Boylen is often the one given credit for helping Roy Hibbert and the Pacers big men develop and improve. Who deserves more of the credit for Hibbert's development? Tim Duncan, Jim Boylen, or Roy Hibbert's desire to get better? I think they all deserve some credit. As a fan, I give most of the credit to Tim Duncan of course.

Didn't Hibbert sign a long-term deal with the Pacers? If not, I hope the Spurs can make an attempt to sign him once he becomes a free agent.

If he's such buds with Duncan, why would he finally come to the spurs, after he retires? Doesn't make much sense...but this is an internet forum.

You know how Robinson is a minority owner and a front office person with the spurs now? Do you have any reason to think that Duncan wouldn't get a similar offer and opportunity? I am pretty sure that Duncan if he retires in 2015... (not sure he will if he is still competitive, why not get paid a few million a year to put up numbers toward all time leaders as a bench player/coach) will still be a major part of the spurs family.

I just don't see TD taking that route after his career. He could I guess, but I think Tim would want to spend as much time as possible with his kids and just get away from the game.

Roy Hibbert is coming off a relatively disappointing regular season, but his performance in the 2013 NBA playoffs warranted a lot of applause. Hibbert was a beast defensively and found his groove on the offensive end as well, connecting on the hook shots that had been off almost all year.
Hibbert seems determined to continue providing value to the Indiana Pacers franchise, who signed the big man to a big extension last summer. As such, he will be working out with none other than Tim Duncan of the San Antonio Spurs.
“I usually work out with Tim [Duncan]. I like to keep myself a secret, but then I’ll go off to San Antonio to work out with Tim for a week or two, probably in August. He likes to get started after August.”
(via NBA.com) (http://www.nba.com/pacers/news/hibbert-offseason-change-workout-regimen-more)

Obviously Timmy is as good of a role model as there could ever be for an aspiring young big man, so it’s great to see that Hibbert is willing to work out with the All-Time great and perhaps learn a trick or two.
According to the interview, Hibbert is working out twice a day on week days during the summer, mixing cardio with weight lifting. He has also decided to give up on his MMA training, at least for the time being, as he feels it might have been a contributing reason to his slow start of the season last year.

I don't see Duncan as the business savvy person, drob is..but that's just me. Timmy will go away ..and we will see very little of him, if even at all. Point is, hibbert has had opportunities now to play with Timmy and he hasn't made the move. I think it'd be silly to think he'd bolt for S.A. as soon as td retires?! Doesn't make much sense. Would sure have been sweet to see the two play together. Would pop have taken them both out in game 6, if Roy was with the Spurs?

Anyhow I think it's a mutually beneficial thing. I think Tim needs someone to challenge him in the post during practice (where's Shane when you need him?) and Roy obviously learns from the matchup. Tim has to be looking for his retirement job as well, which would likely be a big man trainer.

THIS. The Heat have been extremely lucky in their back-to-back runs. They should've lost to the Celtics in the '12 ECF but Boston choked it away, then the Vogel brainfart this year, and finally the Game 6 meltdown to end all meltdowns. I know the adage "yeah but great teams create their own luck" but I think that's bullshit in the Heat's case. They didn't win by cheating or because Stern rigged it for them to win it but teams's have choked precious playoff games to them in ways that were beyond the Heat's control. Oh well...what can you do other than NOT FUCKING CHOKE!

too much intelligence with the enemy?

What I see in basketball is that everybody knows how to play the game at the NBA level -- the question only becomes who executes better (which an individual can practice towards, but not really learn or "steal").

It is amazing how the passion burns so strong after all these years. When his body started to fail him a few years ago instead of accepting it and feeling as if he'd done enough and maybe it's time to go, Tim dug in and whipped himself into the best shape of his life. Tim was determined to extend his career and get back to a high level of play even when everyone said he was done..

I am pretty sure that Duncan if he retires in 2015... (not sure he will if he is still competitive, why not get paid a few million a year to put up numbers toward all time leaders as a bench player/coach) will still be a major part of the spurs family.

Pure speculation. There's no reason to imagine Duncan becoming a very minority owner of the Spurs. Nobody has the faintest clue what Duncan will do when he retires. And who would be selling the shares for Duncan to buy, even if he were interested in tying up some money to earn perhaps little?

I've already gone on record in saying he doesn't retire yet.

I was with friends during that Memphis series and they said before that would have been a dunk but he got rejected by the rim :( He looked bad that year especially late.

Which is why fuckers shitting on Manu are wrong.

The NBA will never be the same with that gentle giant gone. There will never be another player/person as he has been. I for one, will cry like a little fucken baby when The Great Tim Duncan is gone.:cry

Of course they are wrong. They are ignorant too, because it is their "what-have-you-done-for-me-lately" childish attitude. That is a characteristic of being a bandwagon fan, pure and simple. It does not take rocket science to know that.

What you don't see is the Miami Heat logo on the punching mitt.
and his coach(like another one we all know) gave miami a game at the end too by taking him out on the defensive end. did david stern have a secret meeting with all coaching advising them to take out their best defensive big man at the end of games if miami has the ball in the playoffs? i can't believe the same shit has happened twice in the same playoffs..

when someone doesn't have it anymore, they don't have it. no matter how old and washed up you get, u should not be turning the ball over and shooting in the 30 percentile. if u can't do what you used to do anymore, then fall back. when robinson was washed up, he wasn't turning the ball over and putting up bad shots. when bowen was at the end of his career, he wasn't doing it either. neither was steve smith. but you have a guy that is WELL past his prime out there thinking it's all about him fuking up the team. why is it wrong to criticize this?

Manu was on FIRE to start the 012 season and looked strong, then he got hurt :( He wasn't really the same after that. He did have 30 plus a few times though against OKC in the playoffs and showed when others did not. He still has something left in him bu the had an awful time last year late and an awful finals to say the least which we know, BUT I will give him another chance because I don't think he was THAT done or I hope not.

I wish him well.

His excuse was taking TIM out to defend the three, and they give LEBRON to wide open looks so who defended the damn three? I get sick of talking about that shit but man if you take him out atleast contest the three and they didn't even do that so what was the point?

Some of those TO's where he was just stumbling and throwing the ball right to the other guy and then driving in and just throwing it over his head right to the other team has nothing to do with slowing down I agree, it's just playing flat out careless and I have no idea what he was doing out there at times. I am a huge fan of Manu but MY GOD what the hell was he doing? Those passes have no explanation.

Which is why fuckers shitting on Manu are wrong. How dare you compare Manu to Tim Duncan? Not even close!!! Tim Duncan has MJ greatness. The Bulls have 6 rings because they drafted MJ. The Spurs have 4 rings because they drafted Tim Duncan. Could've been 5 but fucking Pop and Manu made sure the ring number stayed at 4 after Game 6.

Agree. This is rational non-biased thinking, and has nothing to do with making only one player the scapegoat because he made a few mistakes. When the real truth is they all made mistakes including Timmy.
People like TGY are the absolute worst kind of fan, in fact, they are not Spur fans at all, they just like one player. If that player were playing on the Mavs then they would be Mavs fans.
Go to the Mavs forum where you can root for your precious loser Blair, loser!
You have never been, and never will be a True Spurs fan!
Truth hurts, doesn't it, TGY?
