Agree that one of the ugliest in recent years has to be Noah. Shawn Marion also has one of the oddest forms at the free throw line.

The incredulous thing about those two is that they're both good to very good free throw shooters.

IIRC correctly after it was finalized (at least for a few games) he was blowing the kiss and then wiping his hand on the back of his shorts. Subtle.

And no all time ugly list would be complete without Shaq's deer in a headlights stare followed by his signature shotput throw.

And I can't remember who it was but some commentator spent a good two whole minutes ranting about Rip Hamilton's extra off center dribble before his shot and how it elevated him to one of the best shooters in the league. The long and short of it was that a free throw is such a simple routine a pro athlete can train their body to do it on autopilot. The problem of course is that playing a game that flows like BB requires such constant mental exertion that shutting that much thinking off can be tricky. So you throw together a routine at the line essentially to keep your mind off what your body is doing.

Pretty terrible looking. What was his career pct. though? I find it fascinating how players like Marion have such a terrible form but still find a way to make it go in. I seem to remember Cartwright being over .500.

Kidd's flying-kiss style at one time was the true badass imho, the most interesting part of it was that he always tapped his bottom before moving the hand to his mouth. Arenas's freethrow style was also fun to watch imho, dude usually rolled the ball around his waist before throwing it, 3 rounds clockwise then 3 rounds anti clockwise.
