The Giants win over them last season was without Payton, so I have no comfort with that game.

That isn't unrealistic. The Falcons D isn't anything to brag about. Osi Umenyiora isn't going to be the game changing player Falcon fans are expecting. He is 31 and benefited playing with Tuck, Strahan, JPP, Kiwi. Saints will win that division unless Brees is hurt or Payton is suspended again.
