I'm making my pilgrimage to San Antonio.... I've been a fan for over 21 years and this will be my first live game.
I'm flying from Melbourne, Australia to Dallas on the 9th April and hoping to attend the following games
San Antonio @ Dallas on the 10th April
Phoenix @ San Antonio on the 11th April
New Orleadns @ Houston on the 12th April
San Antonio @ Houston on 14th April
and will be flying home from Houston to Melbourne on the 15th April.
6 night, 4 games, 3 Spurs games.
Advice on where I am best to get my tickets?
Advice on where to stay?
I plan on renting a car and getting around by car, would you suggest driving to the games or public transport?
Not leaving much time for sight seeing, but are there any must-see sights or experiences?
Many thanks in advance for any advice Spurstalkers.
Eat at Whataburger enough times to try everything on the menu.
If you leave Texas without going to Whataburger once, you have not only failed as a tourist, you have failed as a human being.
While you're in Dallas, check out the Dealey Plaza historic district. That's the place Kennedy got shot, probably the thing Dallas is most famous for so you can do that, watch the Spurs win, leave town and you're done with Dallas. Yay!
On the way to San Antonio, stop in Austin and I can give you a detailed list of locations used in the film "Dazed and Confused." If not just keep on driving. Austin's a cool place but the people here think Austin is like a super bad ass city but that's just because it leans to the left while the rest of the state leans to the right, and everyone here has a dog, likes music and smokes weed. People think this is unique to Austin. It isn't.
I grew up in San Antonio and constantly tell people who ask me if I liked it there that I didn't because the only thing to do is go to Spurs games. Maybe it's changed in eight years. I've gone back on business a few times and the north side has blown the fuck up with new neighborhoods and strip malls but that's about it. Go to the Alamo if you're feeling particularly touristy. Bottom line is you're in town for the Spurs. Get lower level seats. Arrive early. Watch them warm-up. Pretty much everyone but that faggot Duncan will sign autographs. Take in the AT&T Center. That's what you're here for. Don't get distracted by wack ass San Antonio.

Find some breakfast tacos in the morning, try Whataburger for lunch, eat at Rudy's for dinner. Go to the Alamo, get tipsy on the riverwalk and ignore the homeless people. Welcome to SA.

we drive on the right side, so you get in the drivers seat from the left. if you're keen for driving on the right side in a busy city then you should drive. the public transport is total shit.
if you have kids then six flags fiesta texas is a must
when you go to whataburger, have your fries (chips) with "ketchup" not tomato sauce.
our cars have "trunks" not boots
everyone is obese and all claim it's a genetic problem.
try out a shiner bock while you're there. you have your shiner in a "koozie" not a stubby holder
eat as much mexican food as you possibly can. we call capsicum "bell peppers"
we ask where the restroom is, not the toilet.
it's aluminum, not aluminium
the only pies we have are desert pies
above all, we tip 10% for most service (waiters, taxi drivers, etc.) except fast food workers
you'll be an instant celebrity tbh. prepare for everyone to compare you with paul hogan, steve irwin and men at work.

Sounds like a fun trip. I recommend hitting county line for some barbecue. In Dallas, I recommend chicken fried steak at black eyed pea. In Austin, I recommend a Mexican place called Hula Hut.

I would try Whataburger once, realize it aint shit and then move on if I were you. It's late night drunk fast food.
The only must see thing in San Antonio is the Spurs! I guess you could go to our iconic tower just to say you've been http://www.toweroftheamericas.com/ it's a bit overpriced though.
If you feel like watching a movie try out Alamo Drafthouse, they serve you beer/drinks during the movie. http://drafthouse.com/
Also we generally tip 20% not 10%.
I hope you have fun when you visit!

This is probably the best advice so far.
above all, we tip 10% for most service (waiters, taxi drivers, etc.) except fast food workers.
Anyone who has worked in the food industry knows 10% sucks. Start with 15% and add more for good service. Waiter's are usually paid $2/hr plus their tips (which they have to pay taxes on).

15% it is. people say they tip that but in my experience in the food industry they rarely do tbh.

Whataburger is just run of the mill fast food, so no reason to go there. And Rudy's is just shitty BBQ. If you want really good BBQ stop by Lockhart on the way from Dallas to San Antonio to try Smitty's for the brisket, or if it's Sunday, Blacks' (can't remember if Smitty's is closed on Sunday or not). Then on your drive between San Antonio and Houston get off on highway 183 to go to Luling to grab lunch at City Market (closed Sundays). Spectacular sausage and good brisket and ribs. The sides are crap.
LOL the complaint about the sights in San Antonio. There's nothing to see here other than the skanky ass river.

Thank you. Rudy's is nothing special. The chicken is pretty good but it's hard to screw up chicken, and the brisket and ribs are just ordinary. Best BBQ i've had in texas is Mueller's BBQ in Taylor, Texas. Stevie Ray Vaughan actually made a video there; they are quite proud of that.
Anyway the guy asked where to go not what to eat lol.

There's no real must-see sites in San Antonio, especially with only one night after a drive in from Dallas and likely wanting to relax to have some energy for the game later on. In the Houston I'd say NASA is a must-see. It's worth going just to see the Saturn V rocket.
I wouldn't even call Rudy's brisket ordinary though; it's really awful.

Forgot to mention if you want a place to eat after the game in San Antonio you can go downtown and hit up Mi Tierra (it's open 24/7). Back when the Spurs used to play at Hemisfair Arena you'd often see opposing teams eating there after the games, but I have no idea about now (perhaps if they stay downtown?).

Regarding Austin:
Food I'd recommend(ranked in order of importance/rareness/goodness):
Salt Lick BBQ - http://www.saltlickbbq.com/ It's a must!
Juan in a Million - Try the Don Juan...seriously, I'm not joking here. http://www.juaninamillion.com/ Also a must!!
Uchi - http://www.uchiaustin.com/ This place is fucking EXPENSIVE fyi, but godamn best sushi ever.
Rudy's BBQ - http://www.rudysbbq.com/page/home Only if you can't hit up salt lick.
Hopdoddy's burger bar - http://www.hopdoddy.com/
Home Slice Pizza - http://www.homeslicepizza.com/
If there is only one thing you listen to from my post I hope it's this: Since you'll have a car and you're coming from Dallas, I HIGHLY recommend you drive on Capital of Texas Highway/360 to get through Austin instead of Interstate-35. Either that road or FM 2222 for the sites(or both). You'll catch some BEAUTIFUL hill country scenery, including the "lake", you'd miss if you took I-35 to get through Austin.
Honestly, there aren't many "tourist attractions" in Austin per say. Theme Parks, Aquariums, Pro Teams etc etc are located in Dal/Hou/SA.
The best thing to do to get a feel for Austin's culture is head to South Congress(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_Congress) wearing shorts and flip flops, and just walk the street. Sample as many food trucks, local restaurants, and street vendors as possible while at the same time shopping at the local stores. When you're done take a pedal cab to 6th street(http://www.6street.com) and have some brews and more food! Try to make it out to Rainey Street(http://www.raineystbars.com/) which is an old neighborhood downtown(A few blocks away from 6th street) where the houses have been converted to bars and pubs. It's EXTREMELY chill and laid back and you'll get a great feel for the culture Austin is known for.
Other things you might want to take a look at if you have time is:
Barton Springs Pool (http://austintexas.gov/department/barton-springs-pool)
Zilker Park (http://austintexas.gov/department/zilker-metropolitan-park)
Texas State Capital (http://www.tspb.state.tx.us/SPB/capitol/texcap.htm)
Bob Bullock Museum (http://www.thestoryoftexas.com/)
Mount Bonnell (http://www.austinparks.org/our-parks.html?parkid=287)
Hope this helps. Austin is a beautiful city and I hope you enjoy your brief visit here!!!

I don't get the Whataburger hype at all. Maybe calling them run of the mill was too far; it's an above average fast food place IMO. E.g., better than McDonalds, Wendy's, Sonic, or Burger King, and more in that Carl's Jr/Jack in the Crack range; way below In N Out. Their burgers are alright but the shakes are total crap.

Laredo Taco Company for breakfast. Whataburger for lunch. Mamacita's for dinner.
See the Alamo, but hit the Mission Trail and see the others. They are all in much better shape.
Head out to the Hill Country and see the Nimitz Museum in Fredricksburg.....walk the downtown & window shop (hit The Christmas Store and watch them make candles--totally cool), then visit Enchanted Rock.

Thanks for all the tips coming in. Looks like I'll be needing baggy pants and a couple seats in the plane for the return flight!
I got my tickets for the San Antonio @ Houston game Baseline Riser 126 Row F near the away bench.

Got my tickets for the Spurs @ Dallas game too, but it's up in the nose bleeds Upper Level Center Row F, but saving a little on these allowed me to spend a little more on the others.
Any tips for accommodation in Dallas, San Antonio or Houston? Central enough and with parking?

trynthe Hilton Garden Inn in Addison for Dallas. Cavenaugh Flight Museum is right up the road....great sports bar two blocks away. You can walk home after you get wrecked at the piano bar and there's a Smashburger right there....
SA.... You wanting Riverwalk or what? I am quickly becoming a Marriott fan. They are fixing them all up. Anything from a Courtyard and higher is excellent. Embassy Suites Airport isn't bad either. Free drinks from 5-7pm. :)

All the surrounding shops are very great places for souvenirs. Lodging wise the Marriot is probably great. I love the Gunter Hotel in downtown SA. It's pretty surprising how much less the difference in cost of an excellent hotel and a sub-par one are these days. I would have recommended cool shit like Enchanted Rock or Lost Maples, but dude is coming to San Antonio after a 4.5 hour drive from Dallas, watching a 7:30PM Spurs game, and then driving to Houston the next day. If I'm flying in from Australia I'm getting to the game early enough to get an autograph from Manu, so probably leaving the hotel no later than 6PM. Not a lot of time to see the coolest shit in the SA area, which is all at least an hour outside town.
Mi Tierra is worth visiting just for the bakery, but the fajitas are pretty good too. Definitely the place I'd go eat after the game instead of getting some crap fast food or overpriced arena food.

haha whataburger really everyone? you think he came to america to eat the fast food that makes everyone fat? you think he wants to ingest a bunch of cheap ass beef filled with bovine growth hormones that give you man boobs? i don't think so...
here is my advice:
1. get your tickets at stub hub or craigslist
2. for places to stay, download the app "hotel tonight". its ONLY for finding hotels on the night of and they put up the prices at noon everyday. You will score rooms for half the price and if you use my promo code "LCREFELTS" you'll get an additional 25 dollars off and they'll give me 25 dollars! so please do that... i promise you won't regret it. I play in a band and we use Hotel Tonight in almost every city.
3. Yep, drive your car.
4. San Antonio, The Cove is an awesome restaurant with a great beer selection, food, and atmosphere.. someone also mentioned The Alamo Drafthouses which I would recommend as well for sure and the river walk is always there as well. In Dallas, idk if you'll have time but I would go play TOP GOLF.. its a little pricey but a lot of fun even if you're not a golfer.. You compete with whoever you're with by hitting balls onto a giant interactive driving range with targets while a computer keeps your score.. awesome invention. idk about Houston. Have fun bro!

Yeah... I'm starting to think I should skip the New Orleans @ Houston game and spend another night in San Antonio, after all... this is the Mecca of the pilgrimage.

I've used Stub Hub for the tickets purchased so far, the estimated delivery on the Dallas and Houston game is ok. But the estimated delivery on the San Antonio game is the day before I fly out... it's an electronic delivery, so if it comes in late... I'll hopefully be able to print it at the hotel... otherwise, I'll be hitting up someone in here to visit to print it out before the game! Do they tend to arrive on the estimate day? earlier? Hoping to not be chasing around a computer and printer on the day of the game is all.
The Hotel Tonight, sounds great. But I'm too much of a pussy to wait until the last day to have accommodation booked in a foreign country. I like to have it all booked (and paid)before I leave.

You need to plan on coming to San Antonio for the Lakers game on April 16. This is one of the
best times to time to San Antonio. IT'S FIESTA TIME ...............Fiesta starts on April 10-27.
It's a nonstop party time and you need to spend a few days here......NIOSA (Night in old San Antonio)
is four days of music and food from all over the world and is a must go. There are parades and party's
all over town. Eat,drink and party!!!!!!!!!.......... Include this time in your schedule...Ask Patty about it......

Yeah, honestly, if you skip out on Houston, I'd spend a night in Austin.. as it is flooded with great places to eat and is considered the live music capital of the world. However, its about an hour and fifteen north of san antonio so that adds an extra 2 and 1/2 hours round trip... just about everyones fav city in Texas is austin so kinda would suck to miss out but the drive may not be worth it to you.
I think you'll have a much easier and less stressful time if you pre purchase parking. It's always been a much more pleasant experience for me when I know that I have a place to park in one of the AT&T centers lots.
haha, I understand about Hotel Tonight, all good!
Since stub hub is an open marketplace, reliability is inconsistent depending on the seller but I've honestly never had any problems and I've always received my tickets on the estimated day so you should be good.
also watch out for 5 o'clock traffic!

I have two little boys and I need to get home in time to play the Easter Bunny. Also, my cousin did that trip the year before last... to see the Spurs in LA and it was the game Pop decided to play the bench. Turns out it was a close game and a good one to watch, but he missed out on seeing Timmy, Manu and Tony play.
Sounds like I'll still be there for Fiesta Time on the 10th/11th. It seems like there are more and more reasons to stay in San Antonio and blow off the NO v HOU game.

Yeah... I'm starting to think I should skip the New Orleans @ Houston game and spend another night in San Antonio, after all... this is the Mecca of the pilgrimage.
Also seems like the car is going to be the best bet to get around. What's parking like at the AT&T? Do I need to pre-purchase or will it be available on the night? Likewise in Dallas and Houston if anybody knows?
With a full day in SA I would definitely recommend going up to Enchanted Rock or Lost Maples if you like the outdoors. Those are probably the two best hiking areas around San Antonio. Nothing difficult at all since our terrain is pretty flat, but they're nice areas and it won't be too hot yet in April. Plus the Hill Country has by far the prettiest driving in the San Antonio area.

Whataburger is ok, better than the other burger chains, but if you truly want a fantastic burger or a great bean burger then Chris Madrids puts Chester's to shame, it is consistently mentioned in the Texas Monthly magazine as one of the best in the state.
Hard to beat La Cazadora on West Ave. for cheap excellent standard Mexican food.
And the Big Easy on Walzem Rd. has some of the best Cajun food in the whole south USA, even better than New Orleans, the owner was chased here from there by hurricane Katrina because her mom lived here, our gain, their loss.

Holy shit there is a lot of bad advice in here.
1. Starting in Dallas, get a hotel in Uptown. It's near the AAC and some good bars and restaurants, however it's not close to the airport.
2. On your drive from Dallas to SA, stop in the town of West at the Czech Stop for Kolaches.
3. I grew up in SA but have lived in several different cities in Texas so I can say with confidence that SA is a boring city. Sure, the Riverwalk can be fun if you've never been there, but I wouldn't spend more than 24 hours in SA total. After the game, go downtown to experience the Riverwalk, then gtfo the next day and spend as much time as you can in Austin. Don't even bother going to 2 games in Houston.
4. Don't waste your time at Whataburger unless it's 3am and you're 18 beers into the night. There are much better places in SA to get a burger during normal hours. I recommend Lord's Kitchen, Chris Madrid's, or Bobby J's.
5. Since you'll now be going from Austin to Houston, head down 183 to Luling and grab some brisket from City Market. It's my favorite in the state, but there are also some great spots in Lockhart (Smitty's, Kreuz, and Black's). You really can't go wrong with any of them. Next, head down to Shiner and take a tour at the Spoetzl Brewery. You get tokens for free beer at the end.
6. Take your time on your drive and experience the great scenery.
Edit to add some Austin advice.
Grab a hotel in downtown as close to 6th and Trinity as possible. There's an Omni and a Hilton near by. This is kind of the epicenter of all of the bars and restaurants. Some of my favorite places to eat downtown are in the area south of 4th, north of Cesar Chavez, east of San Jacinto, and west of Trinity. I recommend the Vince Young steakhouse if you want one of the best steaks you've ever had. You can also pay homage to one of the greatest college football quarterbacks of all time. After you eat, head north to 6th and you'll find one of the best nightlife scenes in the country. Once you're here, you'll realize why the SA locals don't party at the Riverwalk. Good luck, we're all counting on you.
Also seems like the car is going to be the best bet to get around. What's parking like at the AT&T? Do I need to pre-purchase or will it be available on the night? Likewise in Dallas and Houston if anybody knows?
Definitely no reason to buy a parking pass beforehand. I always park in the lots furthest from the AT&T center because they are the cheapest. Like $8.00 I think. Even considering you have to walk back there, always seems like I get out of the parking lot in around 15 minutes. They have their shit down directing traffic out of that place.

Dallas you will need to get there a bit early..The Stadium is in a horrible spot due to the traffic..And parking lot is small, so if you get there too late you will have to park all the way at the back..Get ready too if you are Rockin a SPURS Jersey, the fans are super hostile there..Never stopped me though...Also if you are bringing Kids you can go super early and take the Kids to the Dallas Aquarium just a few blocks up the road...

Great barbeque tips too. All the ones you mentioned are exceptional and part of the quintessential Texas experience. Though I think you are a bit tough on SA, it is true that Austin has a lot to offer. Barton Springs pool, in the middle of town, is worth the visit. If you google the Austin Chronicle, you can find out about what is happening around town. Unfortunately, you might be coming during the ACL fest, and there will be no place to stay. Pretty much October 3-6, 10-13 are a mob scene and finding a hotel is unlikely. You can always make a day trip up there. If you are mainly coming for basketball and relaxation, SA is slowier paced that's for sure. Historically, the old mission are really interesting, and the Witte Museum is nice. Austin has some incredible museums- The Blanton, LBJ Library, Ransom, and the Bullock Texas State History, to name a few.

Lmao at YOUR bad advice. First of all, if the guy is coming to Texas then he has to try Whataburger. It is required or don't come here. It is a true Texas original. There is no substitute.
If we are talking San Antonio-specific burger joints then it is Chester's hands down.
So grab a Whataburger on the drive down from Dallas then hit Chester's in SA.
And yes, SA is a boring town. That's why I stayed way north in the Hill Country and only ventured into SA when I had to or to see the Spurs.

Whataburger started in Corpus Christi and only recently moved their corporate offices to San Antonio. Don't know where Chester's started but it doestn't even compare to Chris Madrids on Blanco Rd. near Hildebrand. Chris went to MSH school and graduated from Lee HS before opening up his famous eatery. Unfortunately he passed away earlier this year but his family carries on his tradition and his burgers always wins burger competitions all over the state as professed by Texas Monthly. Yes, Chester's is good, but doesn't compare.
Oh yeah, San Antonio is only boring if you are an illiterate idiot who doesn't know where to go and what to do. We like to say, "it is a big city with a small town atmosphere". (7th largest city in the USA)

No, it is a dump. A big fat, poor, run down dump. It is anything but a small town atmosphere.
The best spots are well North of the airport. Quarry area is decent. The River Walk is boring.
Bulverde has better night life than central SA. Downtown SA is dirty and old.
Anyone...anyone who has traveled to any decent big city in the world would hardly rank central SA very high. Greater SA lives off the north side. It has the benefit of the terrain north and northwest, and new infrastructure, pretty oaks, limestone, and money...otherwise, SA would be Brownsville.

You have obviously never eaten at Chris Madrids or you wouldn't make a silly statement like that, but Chester's is a close second.
And your last statement is totally preposterous. Uh, ok. Enjoy your Brownsville-With-a-Sports-Team. Talk about uninformed. SA only put fluoride in the water what, five years ago? Lmao.
The only good parts of San Antonio aren't really San Antonio any way. Just got gobbled up to support the desire to tax and get bigger bigger bigger. At least Boerne is stil its own, charming, quiet Hill Country town.
It won't be long before they wreck the hills north of 1604 with their stupid superstores and bulldozing of trees... What am I saying? They already are. Look out Bulverde and Spring, you're next.

Tbh I don't think any city could get as bad as Brownsville. That's quite literally the worst large city in the RGV with Mission and the tri cities (Pharr, San Juan, Alamo) a close 2nd and 3rd.

No, but you need to understand that the TexMex food in San Antonio is probably the best in the world as is attested by the military stationed here. They have eaten food all over the world and this subject always comes up when talking about San Antonio. And not only is the Mexican food excellent, and profuse here, but so is the BBQ, and now the Cajun food competes with the best that New Orleans has to offer with The Big Easy.
So it is natural that food enters into any conversation that includes San Antonio, and would explain why there are so many overweight people here too.
As for sights, the old mission trail is something that appeals to the intellectual of us, as does the Alamo (the Cradle of Texas Liberty), and for the family, or the romantic couple, the RiverWalk is unique, but for the kids there is Fiesta Texas and Seaworld, and in New Braunfels you can go raft down the Guadalupe River, or go to Schlitterbahn aquatic park and rides.
The Lost Maple Forest nearby and Enchanted Rock nearby have also been mentioned, but I don't think anyone mentioned Natural Bridge Caverns in north San Antonio.
And if antiques appeal to you then any neighboring town will keep you occupied such as Wimberly, Blanco, Lytle, Fredericksburg, Poth, etc.
I have only scratched the surface of things to do and go see in this area.
Don't believe the poo- pooers on here that put down San Antonio because this is a fantastic family type of city with the lowest crime in the US for it's size, and not known for the shallowness that accompanies the bar scene.
We are not known anymore for our music unless Tejano music appeals to you, yet some of the best musicians in the world hail from here and still make their homes here, they just have to go elsewhere to make it big.

No, you won't go hungry, that's for sure.
Is it your whole family coming, any kids?
And actually Dallas isn't as big as San Antonio, but if you combine it with the city of Ft. Worth and all the little cities in between, then it is larger.
Houston however, is the 3rd largest city in the US. But it also has the most overcrowding, probably the worst humidity, definitely the worst driving (people drive offensively rather than defensively there, and have to just to get anywhere because the traffic is so crowded and bad), and the biggest Mosquitos! :lol
Shiner Bock is not Fosters, but it is good, try it.
And you have to eat some breakfast tacos of any variety, of which there are many, they originated here in this general area and then spread all over the world. Whataburger is good at least once but it is typical fast food burger fare at best, there are many better burger places already been suggested, however you need to have at least one Mexican food dinner or you've missed out on what S. A. is best known for.
By the way, this is not BS as some on here might try to mislead, they can all be easily verified online if you make just the tiniest effort to research San Antonio and environs.

Obviously you don't know what you are talking about. Yes, I will only agree that the food there is great since I've spent so much time there, my family is from Weslaco, so I know the good places and the bad places.
But to compare it with San Antonio is out and out ludicrous because both are good, just San Antonio has more good ones is all, and what's more some of the best in the world. As much as I love the Valley and its food, I have to be honest and call it like it is. You should try a little honesty yourself, it might do you some good, unless of course you are just too blinded and proud. If so, then remember, pride comes before a fall!
:lmao @ anyone saying SA Mexican food is better than Valley food. That's such a dishonest lie. I could count the number of decent Mexican food restaurants in San Antonio with one of my hands. For the most part the food tastes like it's been microwaved the fuck out.

What? You can't handle truth either?
It is widely known that S.A. Mexican food is the best in the world, and I can attest to that having lived in both areas.
Just stating the facts. Sorry if the truth hurts.
And to be perfectly honest there is not much difference between the two except San Antonio has more of them and better places. You meant to say that you can count the number of really great places in the Valley on one hand (well, actually it would take two hands), whereas in S. A. they are on almost every block, and the best ones are the hole in wall greasy spoons. :blah
And you can take that to the bank, but if you still don't believe then google it. But I don't have the patience nor the time to waste arguing on this subject anymore. You can live in your fantasy world if you want, I know the truth because I spend most of my time in both areas and have family in both, plus I post a foodie website on this very subject and have explored the new and the old food places with an emphasis on TexMex food.
IMHO this is a silly stupid argument. So say what you will, it won't change the facts.

:hat
No coming alone. Solo traveller. I'm a single dad and I thought about taking my eldest (will be 3 by then), but 3-4hr road trips and 3 games in 6 nights, I can't imagine he'd be too impressed.
Would you suggest ditching the rental in Houston and using public transport? The Toyota center appears to be in the center of town seem unlikely I'll need the car.
You guys passionate about your food in here... I bought a frozen "TexMex" party pack for a recent get together at my house... getting into the spirit of the upcoming trip... consisted of various items... crumbed egg plant slices, mini fajitas, re-fried beans, spicy potato gems, crumbed onion rings and chilli sweet potato pieces.... it looked disgusting and was the joke of the party... didn't taste to bad though.... but I'm just about the only one who was game enough to try....so the TexMex bar is very low... Hi im from San Antonio and im coming to Australia, what are some good places to go.
Hi, you could go to South Australia, but watch out for the Red backs under your toilet seat
You could go to New South wales, but watch out for the Blue Ringed Octopus, Box Jelly Fish and white tails
You could go to Victoria but watch out for the Tiger, Copper Head and Red Bellied Black Snakes in the garden
You could go to Queensland but watch out for the Inland Tipans
You could go to Western Australia but watch out for the Crocs
You could go to the Northern Territory but watch out for all of the above.
Most of all though watch out for the Sharks.
other than that, have fun
you wonder why Patty Mills is fast? He fucken has to be.
He's not lying... I had a red bellied black snake in my backyard last summer, he was sitting underneath my kids kiddie pool and I was just about to put them in it, when he came out!
I'm told they are a protected species... but so are my kids... needless to say there is one less red bellied black snake in Australia.

Here is what you do, when you are here in San Antonio, ask anyone, while maybe getting some gas for your car, where the best authentic Mexican food is nearby. I seriously doubt they will steer you wrong. It may look like a dive or a greasy spoon, but I guarantee you won't be sorry. Then once inside the restaurant tell the waitress where you are from and to recommend an excellent authentic REGULAR authentic Mexican meal for you to try. They won't steer you wrong either. We are proud of our food here.
Other than a cab, public trans in Houston sucks, in fact unless you want to visit NASA, stay away from Houston.:nope
Oh, and before I forget, we like our avocado with salt, contrary to South America who eat them with sugar.
A common avocado concoction is guacamole and it is really green and really good tasting. Chicken mole is real good too if you like peanut butter.

My ticket to the Houston game is probably my best of the three, so I can't avoid it. But I'm thinking I'll ditch the car and get myself a hotel as close to the Toyota center as I can. I can then book a guided tour from the hotel to NASA and a transfer to the airport home.

Had a gig so couldn't post until now.
As you can see TE and skull are two of a kind, maybe even the same ignoramus, and not to ever be taken seriously since they troll this site.
You can easily read the intelligent rational posters from the nincompoops like them.
The holes in their arguments are easily exposed so be sure not to pay any attention to those two trolls, we have a few on this site like them who plague this forum and we just tolerate their stupid posts for comic relief.
:hat
The only holes in an argument are found in yours. Your shitty takes have ad hominems and ad ignorantiams in an attempt to make a point that can never be made. Your appeal to ignorance was noted months ago when your username started spamming vanilla take after vanilla take. You're as sick and wrong as the troll skull. You've been called out as the troll you are, as has he. The only ones screwing up his trip are you two idiots.
He is intelligent enough to know troll posts when he reads them. Your BS about food was all the proof any of us need. And he has enough good information from most of us concerning food, sites, and interests to offset the ignorant ones you two trolls have posted, don't worry.
You should go back to the troll site where you belong and kindly allow the rest of us to post decent intelligent takes.
But then, that is not what trolls do, rather they make constant false accusations, resort to name calling, and in your case bigotry.

Looking to book accommodation at the La Quinta Inn Market Square. From what I've read this looks a decent location. I'm driving in, so I'm happy to avoid the Riverwalk locations, and apparently I can catch a "trolley" near here to downtown locations. It also looks simple enough to drive to games from this location? Thoughts/Opinions?
I also don't have limitless funds, and this cheaper hotel frees me up to stay more centrally in Houston.

That is a decent motel chain comparable to Best Western and almost as nice as the Holiday Inn. It is right downtown within walking distance of the RiverWalk, the Alamo, and the Market Square (farmers market) so you won't need the trolley.
And it's fairly easy to drive to the AT&T Center from there. Rush hour traffic is about the only thing that might impede you.

Unfortunately, your 50 posts in this thread, nearly all of them OT, lead to the conclusion that you are not among those that follow that advice. Your protests that your debate partners are trolls are difficult to take seriously given the facts that you fired the first shot and continued with personal attacks in many of your subsequent posts.

Looks like the little boy is whistling past the graveyard, still, TE. LOL
Sounds like he is trying to reassure himself.

03, 05 & 07... You need to head back, them good years. ... I can only hope I bring the same luck.
As a fellow aussie who made the trip twice, you got any advice?
On another note when is yahoo going to get this fantasy up and running.... I need redemption.
Besides bringing a little luck, bring a little rain with you when you come, we could use it.

Werd. Lot 8, FTW.

Its rained everyday the last 6 days. Its gotten outright ridiculous. We were under a scorching drought. That's all but gone after this entire week.
Now with the new tropical system emerging in the Gulf. We might get additional rain that we otherwise didn't need.
