Who do you think would win a game of 1 on 1 between the two in their respective primes? Since there's no pick and roll game and no Malone, Vince's superior athleticism would get him the win. Probably wouldn't be a close margin either.

Definitive proof that Carter > StocktonPERIOD

VC

But if Stock has a white coach and VC has a black coach, Stockton wins IMO

Unless that white coach happens to be Pop. He'd sub Stockton out with the game on the line and Carter would play 1 on 0 and win

smh gnsf needs to give pop a break

Sure, he made a terrible mistake that arguably cost San Antonio the series against Miami, but on the other hand, San Antonio beat a team that was better than them in Detroit back in 2005, due to coaching. Larry Brown kept going away from what has always worked best for Detroit, which is playing the team straight up, no double teaming. Once they started all that double teaming, it left guys like Horry and Ginobili consistently open, and they paid for it dearly in game 5 and game 7. If they simply played straight up, Detroit almost certainly wins that series.

To somewhat steal a quote from Shaq "one lucky series deserves another"

Why are you comparing John Stockton to Vince Carter in the first place? That's pretty much apples to oranges and a pointless comparison. I also wasn't aware that a hypothetical 1 on 1 game between two players was a measure of who was the better NBA player.

Prime Carter before injuries averaged 25+ ppg

Than theres the size difference. Carter is SG and Stockton is a PG.
