I think it's a win win deal, he can be stay with Tiago and maybe be a defensive force down the road!

Really poor work ethic.

Not sure if that's the kink of player the Spurs would look for.

No way. He is the classic case of a guy whose reputation as a player revolves solely around him being a "legit 7 footer". No desire to learn or improve his game. He is the anti-Spur.

I'd rather have him than Bonner but it's not happening because he's just not a Spurs kind of guy. I mean, would it be that impossible for Pop and Co. not to re-train this dude into playing and training the right way? No, but I doubt Pop wants to spend time with a potential head case, especially after the SJax fallout.

no thanks. Tiago's far better than him and I think Baynes will have a better, longer career.

Melo will never be the player Bonner is. Heck, Bonner has a better +/- over the past several years than the other Melo too!

yeah it's all about the advanced stats. lol. uh... i thought of this site the second i saw the "melo released" ticker flash. i'd rather get beasley. but, i imagine the spurs will leave the spot open.

With Duncan, Splitter, Baynes and even Pendergraph, Spurs don't have a roster spot available to add another center.

However, Spurs are a comfortable $8M below the luxury tax so they can waive player(s) with guaranteed contracts. If Spurs have some doubts on Baynes and if they really like a center like Fab Melo, they can let them battle for a roster spot in training camp and waive one at the end of it. Now, Baynes has shown some nice things last season and I don't see why Spurs would really like Melo or another available center, so Spurs will likely stick with Baynes.

Its a damn shame when Pierce is bullying a 7' footer like that. This guy is a long term prospect for sure.
