A team source said the Nets and Blazers agreed in principle to a sign-and-trade that will get them Shareef Abdur-Rahim on a six-year contract worth roughly $38 million.

In return, the Nets will send a lottery protected 2006 first-round pick to the Blazers.

So it's Kenyon Dooling next. A lot of Eastern conference teams are putting on some muscle.

Yup, while the Spurs enjoy their trophy, the players that they could add to make themselves even better keep slipping away. Are the Spurs going to add anyone, or just stay pat? Seems kind of silly to assume you're so good that you don't need to do anything to make the team better.

We just added a back up ctr that your team was very hot after. And we still have half of our MLE along with our LLE, and a few very nice trade assets. I think the Spurs will be just fine.

And how many centers do they have now??

3 more than the Suns do.

I still think the spurs are the best team. If they get Glenn Robinson for a whole year their chances are even better. I don't think Phoenix matches up well to San Antonio.

None of these teams haven't built up to the point where they're obviously better than the Spurs.

Let's wait and see how Oberto fares in the NBA before declarations of summer Spur complacency are made.

Oh, and 3-0, Suns fan.

Uh, this is the trade that NJ wanted to make all along. Portland was holding out for a player that NJ had already drafted, and they didn't get him. If anyone "blinked", it was Portland.

Because this was a Jesus spam thread that LJ edited and turned into a regular thread.

No it wasn't. The Nets were adamant about not wanting to give up any first round picks. That's well documented.
