We were never FCS tbh. From independent, to the WAC, to C-USA. Never been done before imho. :)They were FCS independent.
And if money and national championships are all that matters, there should only be about 30 teams in such a league anyway, and that number might be high.

Were they technically FCS? Like half the games were against a bunch of NAIA, D2 and D3 teams and the other half against FCS.

The fact UTSA scored was impressive, everyone knew this was a blow out, the point was to measure where the program is after starting it up 3 years ago. Give this program another 3 or 4 years and it will be on par with anyone in CUSA and able to beat some of the lesser schools from the big conferences.

It's just their schtick imo. I give them the benefit of the doubt that they aren't dumb enough to actually laugh at a start up program that has moved up to FBS in record time and, all things considered, has looked pretty good doing it.

Thanks. That was a crazy game and a surprising win. Phil Steele had slurped on Tulane in his preseason magazine but the Jags started off quickly and held on for their first road win against a FBS team. I expected Tulane to win easily especially after the Jags bad loss last week.
I think UTSA is doing well especially at their pace. They have a good foundation to be successful long-term. Just don't make the mistake of building a crappy on campus stadium. The Alamo Dome is a good venue and will be a good recruiting tool.

Damn, had no idea you guys lost an FCS team Week 1. Southern Utah kicked our ass pretty good the first year too so I feel your pain. Think USA will be fine though, aside from attendance theyre right up there with UTSA as the best start-up imo. Theyll make some noise in the Sunbelt sooner rather than later.

UTSA had a HELL of a game on Saturday...5 TDs against the favorite in the Big 12 was awesome. Great job by this team...and they've definitely taken MONSTER steps to being a player in NCAA. Third season and already holding their own. Great job, Runners.

unfortunately we don't at all :lol, our QB is a good runner but has been dogshit throwing the ball against 2 bad teams (he was 8 of 21 last week). He's a lefty with a release so slow and ugly it makes Tim Tebow's throwing motion look fundamentally correct.
They should still win no problem, but UTSA should be able to at least put up some points.
The rushing defense has been pretty stout the first two games. New Mexico was 5th in the nation in rushing last season and they held their 1400 yd back to like 50 yards. Ok State didnt really have much success on the ground either. Feel a little more optimistic about the game knowing Arizona's passing game sucks.
