Well, well, well. Sutter went "there" last night. At first, I was like "who is this kid"? Why are they emphasizing this little boy? Makes sense now.

But damn damn damn. :(

Lyla got jacked up! So the US Marshall dude is a crackhead? That was bizarre.

You know Sons is loosely based upon Hamlet, right?

I think Logue's Marshall character is Laertes... Suffered great loss whom he blames on Jackson, conspires with Clay (the king) to avenge his loss. Tara represents Jackson's sanity, as Hamlet committed the act lead into to the revenge in his insanity.

If this holds, I think his junkie habit is the poison, that represents his anger/rage.

Shit. For real? I did not know this.

Yes. It's all there. Books/Letters reaching to the present from the past. Dead MC President betrayed by wife and partner, who become the club leaders. Abel represents Jackson's innocence, and Tara his sanity. Chibs is likely Horatio. Opie was Ophelia with Donna representing his sanity. Piney was Polonius.

It's all there, from the rotting deer head in the MC "something is rotten in the state of Denmark), to the to-be, not-to-be in Ireland as Jax chases down to recapture his innocence, to show titles like "To Be" or "To Thine Own Self"...

It's loose, and doesn't always take the forefront of the story arc, but, yes, it's Hamlet.

Will the US Marshall just off himself?

Jacob1983
09-18-2013, 11:21 PM
Donal Logue's character needs to get over it. Your sister was a nurse in prison, dumbass. Getting murdered in prison is a risk you take when you work at a prison.

JMarkJohns

Will the US Marshall just off himself?

If Hamlet script plays out at all, decent chance something ends Gemma's life sooner than happens to him.

He could off himself, but I think Jax slays him revenge style.

Can you explain Venus and her relation to the Hamlet storyline? :lol

JMarkJohns
10-16-2013, 10:40 AM
Not sure there is one. I'm at a point where I've given up on trying to piece together the puzzle. Wheels are spinning each week, but almost nothing is going anywhere. It's like 5 extended episodes in and the same shit is true now that was true end of season 5. Clay in the hole, IRA on the rocks, Club in some turmoil, Tara in some shit, Government in pursuit.

They need to do more than just shuffle shit around. The end of Hamlet is an epic clusterfuck. It's incredible. This shit is dragging.

JMarkJohns
10-23-2013, 01:30 AM
Goddamn!

First prison rape, torture porn, piss drownings, and school violence. Now kiddie incest, kiddie/infant porn, and malicious fiction miscarriages.

Starting to regret watching this season.

And Boyd Crowder is one ugly woman!

JMarkJohns

Ok, so one of the "players" that got to Gertrude was a man dressed as a queen with relationship issues leading to death. I've long thought Neiro to be representative of "the players" and Venus was one of his "familia", so...

Jacob1983
10-23-2013, 03:03 AM
Clay was absent in this episode. The Venus story seemed like a filler story to me.

JMarkJohns
10-23-2013, 09:24 AM
Definitely not filler considering Jax killed the mom right in front of the guy the DA just came to see to get dirt on the club.

JudynTX
10-23-2013, 02:38 PM
These things crossed my mind after watching:

1) Child porn? Really?
2) At first I thought Venus was setting up the crew.
3) Why don't I trust Ratboy or any of the other 3 that got voted into the club?
4) Adrienne Barbeau has not aged as beautiful as Raquel Welch. :(

The Hamlet angle is gone, methinks...

Gertrude is supposed to be killed roundabout by the King, and Hamlet directly by the King through Laertes.

Gemma is still alive
Clay is dead
Laertes MIA
Jax not dead

Whatevs. I'll watch, but the depths of disgust this season has delved into without adhering to Hamlet story arc leaves me a bit disenchanted. Not unlike Hamlet, this series lost itself.

Although I do love the Gemma & Nero love thang, in spite of Smits showing up all of a sudden with a neck tat. That Clay taking a bite out of that guards cheek was a little wavy especially when you had to watch 2 - 3 episodes with that blood all over his mouth.
Tara's getting on my last nerve, some one needs to spill her brains.

Season 7 is not assured yet. They may do it as a finale for the show and launch a prequel for the SAMCRO Redwood founders...i.e. Pliny, Jax's dad, and Clay when they were younger...nothing is yet set in stone.

Pretty sad what's happening to him tbh. It's crazy how Juice's downfall began when he tried to hide the fact that his dad was Black from the club. Meanwhile, the Club sees the crazy shit Tig is doing and they don't even say anything about it. If they're cool with Tig being gay then they definitely wouldn't give a F that Juice is half black.

IMO - Jax dies. I think he knows that in order to save his sons (both the club and literally) that he and Jemma have to be gone. Jemma is gone. I also think that "Unwritten by-law" Jax spoke of at the table was for when a member dies that the club looks out for the family. I think Jax wants them to leave his kids alone forever.

But going by the shot of his retarded son playing with the ring, you know that implies he'll at some point get drawn back in.

This was one of the worst finales I have ever seen. Holy crap dat last special effect was shit. :lol

That ass on that porn bitch at the beggining though. :hat

You really think so? Everything was so predictable.

Breaking Bad knew how to wrap up a series.

I don't watch this series but I saw a couple of episodes on Thanksgiving night when my family was having an SOA binge; I just want to know if the hunky guy with the smile scar lived or died.

His son playing with the ring did imply he would seek it out, but Jax knew he had to go for his family to have a chance. I'm sure he asked the club to no matter what leave his family alone. Wasn't the best finale, but still sad. It was a very Jax thing to do to clean up his messes and do what's best for the club.

It's being put out of its misery, tbh.

Last few seasons have really been some of the worst written, most self-aggrandizing bullshit, almost making irrelevant a previously well done plot line centering around one of the most relevant stories in literature, Hamlet.

It's like Sutter got tired of trying to be or not to be within the story arc, said fuck it, and started jerking himself off whilst deficating all over at least three, maybe four very good seasons, ending the series in a completely trite and cliche'd fashion.

It was painful watching this steaming pile make an atrocity of the final acts of Hamlet.

But even independent of how they buttfucked themselves in paying homage to Hamlet, the last few episodes took almost six hours to complete the obvious while simultaneously allowing all the redemption the time attempted to build toward be undercut by the bullshit death end and preluding turning of the "Son" ring in a what goes around, comes around nod that innocence does not escape.

Which, overall, I'm fine with, but focus on that, not Jackson Christ bearing the sins of the world, the club, his own humanity in a final supper/crucifixion "it is finished" car crash.

Hamlet's sanity and innocence certainly did not survive, but Hamlet didn't have a Christ complex, nor was he a self-righteous asshole turned pious douchebag. He was completely human and it was in his attrition, which Jax escapes, that he's redeemed.

But, whatever... Farewell sweet biker. May revs of engines sing thee to thy rest.

Good riddense.

The conflict will be with August Marks.

The club won't kill him or tell him to kill himself. Who came up with that theory? LOL

The club even met for a vote to kick him out. Even Jax knows he'll lose his patch. Not die over it.

Did you guys paid any attention to that meeting or what?

Gotta say, the pre-bug splatter smiling crucifixion pose was just hokey as hell. He should have at least wheelied over a shark while leading the popo parade.
