Both teams on short weeks and wins at the end NE wins but I doubt they cover. Not one of my picks though

The great Tom Brady at home in a big nationally televised game vs a QB in his second NFL game on the road....hmmmm?

Pats 9-1 the last 10 years in home openers.

Last five Pat/Jet games in Foxboro

Pats 29-26
Pats 30-21
Pats 45-3
Pats 31-14
Jets 34-31

What's the line...12/13? (don't get into that aspect of things until Friday)

I know a lot of Pats injured.

He's a pretty good punt returner, but seeing that Edelman is currently their #1 receiver and he's injury prone, they should probably have someone else returning punts.

Yeah he's shredding his matchup to pieces pre-throw but so far he's got Ed Dickson hands and he appears to be the type of receiver Brady has always struggled to get chemistry with.

The lack of depth still scares me at DT but Kelly so far is a big upgrade over the fatasses they've had next to Wilfork the last few years.

So you admit Patriots fans never claimed Brady made Moss, Gronk or Hernandez, hence why you're moving the goalposts to something else.

Glad we could clear that up.

If Welker is such a stud and not a product of Brady, why couldn't he get a contract comparable to that of other stud receivers?

I remember thinking Welker was a shifty little shit in his limited time in Miami. I knew as soon as he went to NE he was going to do some damage, especially since Brady does a lot of dinking and dunking and Welker is killer at YAC. Belichick seems to have agreed.....

"He killed us," Belichick said. "He killed us on punt returns. And he killed us in the slot. ... I remember we had one “Double 83” when he was playing in the slot in Miami, and we still couldn’t cover him."So came another added bit of motivation to pursue Welker in the 2007 offseason."It’s one thing to acquire a player, it’s another thing to acquire a player that you then don’t have to play against twice a year," the coach added. "If you get the right guy, you’re adding him to your team but also taking off a team you have to play twice a year. There’s definitely something to be said for that."

HI-FI

more from Darth Belichick

"The whole Wes Welker thing started when he was in Miami," Patriots coach Bill Belichick said. "He was a very frustrating player to coach against because we really couldn't handle him. He caught passes. He returned kicks. When Olindo Mare (http://espn.go.com/nfl/player/_/id/1170/olindo-mare) got hurt, he even went in and kicked extra points, field goals and kicked off against us. That was annoying, too. We doubled him. We played him in different combinations. He was always the guy we were trying to game plan for, and still couldn't stop him."

"We have just as much trouble covering him in practice, and Tom Brady has just as much confidence throwing to him as the quarterbacks in Miami did when we were trying to defend him," Belichick said. "We don't defend him any better in practice probably than we did trying to defend him when he was at the Dolphins. Nick Saban had him down there, and he just drove us crazy."

DUNCANownsKOBE
09-12-2013, 09:31 PM

age. i'm not moving goalposts, i included welker in the original group. most people know brady didn't make moss. more like, he saved him from oakland, tbh. moss's career would have died in oakland. everybody also knows prime moss was vikings moss. but this talk of "brady can do it with anybody" when he's been loaded with receivers for the past 6 years is what gets me. every qb needs weapons. brees, manning, rodgers. brady is no exception

what happened to studs like chad jackson and donte stallworth? why did BB sing Welker's praises from back when he was on Miami? Welker wasn't very accomplished 2 years into the league. Brady also >> any qb welker had played for on Miami. but this insinuation that brady can magically "replace players within the system" and not miss a beat is ridiculous

Answering my question with random tangents about Chad Jackson and strawman arguments means you have no response :lol

I'm insinuating Brady makes the slot receiver extremely productive. That's it, and the fact he made Troy Brown a 1200 yard slot receiver is among the mound of empirical evidence supporting the notion Brady makes the slot receiver extremely product. That's all I've ever argued.

My boy Geno putting on a show tonight. He knows that since Dirty Sanchez is out for the year, he's gotta pick up the comedy slack. props tbh.

BB did a great job being cheap with Talib in an off season where it was a buyer's market for corners. Now they'll either lose him or will have to give him a Brandon Carr type deal.

lol the next 4 games

vs Tampa Bay
@ Atlanta
@ Cincinnati
vs New Orleans

I'm guessing 1-3. If they go 2-2 I'll be ecstatic.

How long til Gronk gets back? Are they pumping him full of HGH, steroids, and all sorts of illegal drugs? Because if not, I demand answers.

I only caught the last NY possession after the Patty punt. On 1st and 10 Holmes ran a crossing route and then turned to go upfield. Sensing he was about to be potentially burned, Pattycake DB puts his arm out and shoves Holmes. Holmes falls. Was it simply due to wet field? Sure looked like it was Cheating Pattycake getting away with interference.

I didnt bother to record.

Idk but I have a hard time believing Jake Ballard wouldn't be providing at least some productivity on offense right now. They have a long week, it doesn't hurt to give Brandon Lloyd a call.

1-3 sounds reasonable - either Josh Freeman or Marvin Lewis will hand you a win, tbh....

Yeah exactly I figure one of those teams will shit the bed. I don't see any way they'll be able to beat Atlanta or New Orleans unless Gronk comes back and Aaron Dobson gets surgery to trade hands with Greg Jennings.

Where did I say you said shit specific to slot receivers? I said that's what I said.

Your reading comprehension skills are a special kind of retarded.
i never said you said i said it. i talk about brady's weapons in general and you start ranting about slot receivers and welker's contracts

So you started arguing about how Brady needs good receivers when no one said anything to the contrary?

So who were you talking to? The wall?

I might have a chance against you after this performance by Brady

I came real close to starting Rivers.

i don't remember that specific play. i swear i have the shittiest memory when it comes to sports, no matter what i watch, shit always blurs together for me. might be alcohol related. the only questionable call I saw was where they overruled an obvious fumble on Amendola....but it's the pats, you have to expect obvious fumbles will be overruled for them.

that being said, i don't think the game was that shady, just Geno Smith stinking up the joint with his monkeyballing shit. to be fair to Smith, he made some great throws that were dropped, cheatriots seemed determined to lose but Smith kept stinking up the place. typical Jets football.

So, even if the Pats win this game, are they currently even in the top half of the league? I'd argue they're probably 18th to 20th, given what we've seen the past two weeks.

yeah well ur guaranteed a playoff spot so no worries :lol

:lmao yeah, the refs really fucked up by not calling the fumble on a receiver who didn't even play
