in the past year i've gotten to the point where i can't eat shrimp, or even smell it, without feeling sick. I used to love shrimp, and nothing at all has happened to give me an aversion to shrimp, i've just slowly, for whatever crazy reason, developed a distaste for shrimp that's grown to the point where it completely disgusts me. Yet i still love crawfish and crab and clams and all other shellfish :lol but the smell, taste, and texture of shrimp is just gross now.

cauliflower is a good vegetable imho, shit tastes very good cooked together with tomatos n eggs. But it takes quite some time to ripen it, like potatos and eggplants, so you gotta be prepared to stay in the kitchen for a protracted time when you're cooking cauliflower.
snails are what I would rather starve to death than eat any, that ain't at all a food to me tbh. I still eat meat on rare occassions but I've never eaten any snails or any molluscs for more than 10 years, since I learned the risk of getting parasites in your body when eating those shits. The parasites will stay in your body throughout your lifetime, feeding on your brain and gradually retarding you.

I don't generally think of myself as a picky eater, because I'm pretty adventurous when it comes to flavors and different types of cuisine, but whenever I answer a question like this I'm forced to realized there's a pretty long list of foods I won't eat. Or won't eat certain ways.
I don't eat mushrooms, for one. The texture is too spongy and they taste like dirt. And the only shellfish that hasn't completely grossed me out is abalone (which is pretty rockin'), so I've given up even trying it anymore. Also, I really can't stand vinegar, the taste or smell, which eliminates a pretty huge amount of foods for me including mustard, pickles, anything that has been pickled, most hot sauces and dressings, green olives, etc. And I have a problem with anything that has a really acidic taste, like fresh tomatoes and peppers, but I think that may be tied to my very mild allergy to citric acid. Lastly, there are a ton of foods (onions, peppers, celery, and other similar foods) that I love as a flavor and love to cook with but that I can't stand to actually eat. I'm good with onions and celery when they've cooked long enough (or are cut small enough) to just disappear into soups or sauces, but if I bite into a big, crunchy, still recognizable piece of onion or something, I'm not happy at all.
Oh, and I can't stand dried fruits. That has more to do with texture than flavor, though. And the fact they make me kind of sad. All the potential of a fresh, juicy, perfectly ripe apricot or grape or plum or whatever else turned into overly sweet leather. Sad.
Thankfully, all the stuff I hate the most is pretty easy to avoid. My pickiness mostly applies to condiments or things that I would have to really go out of my way to eat. And a lot of the stuff you all have mentioned just seems crazy to me. I eat almost all fruits and vegetables, and in the case of the latter usually prefer them to be as raw and as undressed as possible. And I’ve yet to meet a legume I don’t love, so I’ll happily eat up all the lima beans and green peas and edamame and green beans that are being ignored.
I used to like sushi. I just eat sashimi now, maybe nigiri sushi. It's not because of a trend. It's something I crave. It doesn't leave a taste, it doesn't leave me full, no ball of grease in my stomach, it causes no burping or any negative effects. It's just good and clean and if it's the right fish, it's like cotton candy.
It took some time to get over the concept of eating a raw fish, but now I can eat it right on the boat (not recommended if you haven't ice bathed it yet).
I cannot eat cottage cheese, butter, yogurt, buttermilk, escargot, duck, or hominy. I like grits, but not hominy. Odd I know.
I cannot eat that ham that has cheese pressed into it.
I cannot eat chicken liver, or any animals' internal organs or caviar.
I cannot eat oysters
No Indian food
certain fancy cheese taste and smell like shit imo..beets are pretty fuckin nasty but good mixed with other stuff in a juicer, kale is disgusting, can't think of anything else
Buying sushi in stores sucks, tbh..
Paying 10$ for like 9 pieces of sushi, ugh..
Plus you're getting shitty product. You need it fresh. Go to a sushi bar, the busiest you can find, and sit at the bar itself. That way you don't wait for some waitress to bring it around. You get some freebies as trials as well, and you'll spend more but you'll not regret it. Busier is better, fresh fish. Fuck those "we also have sushi" places. They repackage that shit and sell it tomorrow. When you get your tuna and it has 4 lemon slices on it, send it back.

Sounds like your gf has her hands full.

I like bananas, but I don't like banana flavored things . . . I like coconut flavored things, coconut milk, coconut water, coconut oil, but I don't like coconut. Cantaloupe makes my tongue itchy. There's probably a few things I wouldn't try just because they sound unpleasant, but otherwise, I'm pretty adventurous.

I've been saying this for years. Never thought I'd run across another person that felt the same way.
I don't eat banana bread, pudding, candy...anything...but I love bananas.

I'll eat banana pudding if the actual pudding is vanilla, and not banana flavored pudding . . . which is the way it should be imo. Having said that, I am generally anti-pudding unless it's made from scratch . . . mass produced dessert foods in general tbh. If I indulge, I want the real deal.

Anything my wife cooks. Unfortunately I've taken to eating a lot of fast food because of it and have probably added 25 lbs since I've met her.

Actually, most of the people who know me have no idea how picky I can be. I'm good at not making it anyone else's problem.

Green beans make me puke every time.
I agree with you Baseline, which is why I have not eaten them since I was a kid and they tried to make me eat them. I hate that crap.

Cabbage, cooked or raw. I'll spend 15 minutes picking it out of my salad.
However will eat it if chopped up finely like in vegetable soup, but hate slaw.
And don't like dill or sour pickles unless diced up in potato salad etc, but do love sweet pickles.
I can't believe nobody has mentioned coleslaw. Ugliest nastiest shit ever created by the human species tbh.
Cucumbers
Any kind of Melons........ not titties, but the fruit watermelon etc.
Cantaloupe (I almost threw up typing this shit) :vomit:
Got sick of eating watermelon all your life I guess.
Squab
Squab aint bad. You have to cook it right.

You can get good oysters in baltimore, or pretty much any seafood. The whole inner harbor smells like one giant delicious crabcake. Heavenly bliss for seafood lovers. Don't stray too far from the inner harbor though unless u want some heroin
Heroin and crab cakes, good looking out.

I love all food, it was hard to compile the above list of 3.

I tried caviar one time and didn't like it. I'm not very picky, I love junk and fast food, albeit in moderation. I like pretty much whatever is thrown in front of me, whether it's a filet mignon or Ramen noodles, candies, cakes, whatever. Okay, maybe not everything but a lot of bad shit and healthy stuff as well.

I mentioned it, yuck!
Chicken pot pie.
Don't care for them at all.
Great call on the black licorice.
I'll second that!
Cucumbers:vomit:
Won't heave, but don't care for them.
The thought of eggs and ketchup is vomit inducing, tbh.
Also, whenever you know somebody who's trying SOOOOOOO hard to lose weight and doesn't know why he can't, there's a good chance it's because he isn't counting the calories that come from dousing all of his meals with ketchup :lol
Isn't eggs with ketchup a Yankee thing?
I love my eggs with salsa, in fact I have to have it that way unless it's eggs Benedict.
Buying sushi in stores sucks, tbh..
Paying 10$ for like 9 pieces of sushi, ugh..
Man, I totally agree! What takes the cake is spending hard earned money for it in expensive restaurants! Go figure!
I'll take my food cooked, thank you very much! :lol
