View Full Version : When Mr. Ginobili Retires, his Jersey should hang from the Rafters

Embedded

And any haters should hang there too. He has been a nucleus of our team for so long, and has multi-championship pedigree. Most Manu-Haters are probably Lakers fans trying to hate because they're so depressed. Well, look on the bright side, you might have lost DH but you gained...uh...well, surely they gained somebody, I saw one of the floor-sweat-moppers hit 2 free throws in a row, maybe they'll sign him. Anyway, I digress. Mr. Ginobili is a cerebal leader in the locker room, and who else would have the cojonoes to slaughter Dwayne Wade with an elbow like that?

There can be no arguments about that.
No matter what happened recently in the 2013 playoffs, nothing can erase his value to the Spurs, and greatness to the fans and the sport of basketball.
This is not homerism or Manuism, it is definite fact.
Anyone who says it isn't is nothing less than a fan of another team other than the Spurs, pure and simple fact.

Way to go out on a limb there buddy. You act as if the people criticizing Manu haven't explicitly stated they know he used to be a beast but are living in the present and not the past. We all know he deserves to be in the rafters but he played like garbage last season, no way around that. Getting really sick of the :cry stop hating on manu :cry crowd

Oh God, another cocksucking Manu thread created by a Manutard such as the OP. Yes, his jersey should be hanged but from the Heat rafters for being a top contributor to the 2013 Heat championship run. I expect Manu to receive a ring the next time he visits the American Airlines Arena. :lol

His legacy will also forever be tarnished in the eyes of non-homer Spurs fans. He's got two years to prove the doubters like myself wrong. Now if the Spurs don't win another championship by the time he retires, oh boy, a lot of us Spurs fans will not shed a tear the day he retires. I'll actually be kind of glad tbh.

Shut up kid. If he didn't made that game winning shot against the Warriors, we wouldn't have been in the finals. And without him in game five of the finals, we wouldn't have been in a position to win the finals in game six. PERIOD

Come on, stop apologizing for 2013 Manu. He sucked. His one shining moment (gamewinner against the Warriors) occurred less than a minute after taking a horrible, horrible contested 3 — one of many.

Everyone knows Manu was great back in the day. He'll have his jersey retired and he'll be a first ballot hall of famer.

That doesn't mean you have to continue to parrot this falsehood that Manu was key to getting to finals in 2013. Fact is, he was flat out terrible for 80% of the past season and postseason.

You can recognize his former greatness while also acknowledging the fact that he's not that great anymore.

I, for one, can recognize Manu shit the farm in the last playoffs, and I have said as much in many posts just like this one now.
However, I would have been a lot more critical had it not been for the Manu haters trying to ram it down our throats so damn much.
They could have shared their opinions like most of us do and allowed for decent debates, but instead they resorted to wrongly placed insults in order to try to win their arguments.
Wrong tactic!
All that did was cause those of who were on the fence to rise up like a sleeping giant on the pro-Manu side.

Your analogy pretty much sucks, but yes, I got so sick of the same old tired ignorant BS from the Manu haters that it pushed me to defending Manu, mainly because the anti-Manu posts were so vehement and stupid.
Plus they plagued every single thread no matter if the thread had absolutely nothing to do with Manu.
In three words, it was wrong!
My hope now is he rises from the ashes like the Phoenix and makes those idiots eat their words.
When that happens I will bring these threads back so every one can see what fools are made of.
I am really sick and tired of all the hatred.

The same thing with Pop, a poll and thread.
Then we could have some decent discussions without all the hate polluting every single thread.

Ginobili amongst Spurs all-time leaders:

- 727 games (5th)

- 10,819 points (5th)

- 1,093 three's made (1st)

- 2,786 free throws (5th)

- 2,892 assists (5th)

- 1,064 steals (4th)

- .211 Win Shares per-48 min (3rd)

Dude is definitely getting his jersey retired. :tu :tu :tu .... I'd love to see where he ranks in terms of "fouls drawn" or "charges taken" but don't think that stat exists outside of recent years... And yeah those stats aren't even mentioning AS games, MVP shares, All-NBA teams, or the myriad of intangibles he brings to the table.

Manu's jersey will proudly hang from the rafters one day and Spurs fans all around the world will celebrate Manu for the irreplacable impact he has made on this team as one of the greatest San Antonio Spurs of all time. And Gregg Popovich will one day be inducted into the basketball hall of fame as one of the top 5 greatest coaches ever in the history of the game of basketball.

I wear a Manu jersey every game day...which I have done since Bruce retired.

Saw Ginobili play in his first NBA season and knew he would be special, which he was. But he is a has been now. He has lost the fire. It is sad to see the greatest competitor reduced to "I played so so. Oh well." PATHETIC.

Timmy worked his butt off in all 7 games jackass.

He might not've had the biggest numbers in the all the games, but he still played as the heart and soul of this team. And there is no doubt in my mind that TIMMY deserved to be finals MVP.
