Weren't J-Kidd and Webber supposed to be Spurs too? I may be wrong but I heard the Spurs tried to make a move for Webber back in the day?

in hindsight its a good thing the Kidd scenario fell through because we had Tony Parker who was improving and now has reached an MVP level. none of those were as close as Jermaine was, iirc, and he would have been a great fit next to Tim since they were about the same age

Webber had the Spurs on his list in 2006-07 near the tail end of his career after getting bought out by Philly, but he ended up signing with the Pistons instead...

Money was about the same due to NJ having an income tax and Texas not having one. It actually came down to Jomanna. If Kidd did come here I don't think the Spurs would have been as successful and he rang by himself so. Its one of those situations that worked out for everyone

Not gonna lie, this Henry kid and shawne Williams dude are going to play integral parts in dantoni's system, if they play their cards right this season will earn them a pretty nice paycheck next year regardless of who signs them. Wes Johnson looks pretty timid, Henry and Williams are both showing they want it more.

I wouldn't say they were a "mirage" really, they were a good team, but they did benefit from matching up with Denver in the first round imho....
GS has a great player in Curry and guys like Iguodala and Bogut but the rest of their roster comes and goes.
And yeah, they got the best first round matchup apart from the L:lolkers because George Karl chokes more than Mike D'Antoni in the playoffs.
