Remember when Parker "promise" Tim Duncan #5? Than went 6-23 in game 6? Yeah I think Parker should stop talking.

dude in the last 2 minutes Parker hit a stepback three in Lebrons face, a circus shot off balance jumper, and forced a turnover from Lebron to put the Spurs up 5. He did his part.

I think it's an extremely positive comment from parker considering the fact that they never really had decent chemistry together. Parker is ready to trust Kawhi.

He did get injured though... Clearly wasn't himself.

& I remember him also promising Michael Finley a ring and tho they didn't get it in 06, they came back with nearly the same squad that next year and did. #5 is still a real possibility for this team

Yeah but you can't compare JA TO Kawhi. Kawhi is the starter at his position..while Anderson was a 3rd string SG. Plus KL is a fuckin beast!

Fuck next year. Kawhi will be an All-Star this year. Parker, as the pg, just needs to make sure that the ball goes to Kawhi's hands more. Of course, it's still on Kawhi to make the most out of the opportunity. We'll see the results of his offseason training soon enough.

Didn't his off-season training consist of, resting his knee?

I would wait until Kawhi resigns with the Spurs. That should happen next offseason. I could see the Lakers targeting him if he goes to Free Agency.

Fun fact: Kawhi lead the league in PPP from post-up last season, albeit on small sample size

Spurs will never let it get that far. It won't matter, though. His first FA will be restricted.

Fun fact: Kawhi lead the league in PPP from post-up last season, albeit on small sample size Well, he certainly should be able to lay it up with either hand, considering the size of those mitts. We know he can dunk with either hand. Kawhi should end up with a very nice post-up game, but he should start developing it now...not wait until LeBron did at Year 8. All he has to do is have Tim show him the ropes.

He starts hitting that baseline jumper consistently, he will be an all star.

Kawhi has been looking pretty mediocre lately.

Yeah because good defense, great rebounding, beating guys off pnr sets for dunks, finding ope 3 point shooters off em too, and hitting threes are all in a mediocre players skillset......

5-13 shooting, 2-8 on free throws, mediocre for someone who is supposedly the future face of the franchise

Ditto, preseason helps spot the mediocre posters much easier, it's hilarious. :lol

So 'mediocre lately' = a poor shooting night. In which he also showed great playmaking, an ability to handle the ball and outstanding rebounding.

Overall I thought Kawhi played well last night. The missed free throws are something that is correctable. Every time Kawhi rebounded on the defensive he pushed the ball extremely well and he finished at the rim a couple of times. He executed the pick-n-roll pretty decent too. Kawhi's progress from when he was a rookie 2 years ago has been remarkable. Even more surprising last night was the fact that he was reacting when didn't get foul calls. Good to see.

robdiaz obviously didn't watch the game, so thanks for calling him out on that. Kawhi looked great in his limited minutes - the offenses were stagnant both ways, but he got to the hoop, was dishing the ball out to shooters, drawing fouls, getting every rebound in his reach, etc. all as the #1 option on the floor with the opposition fielding their full roster. I really liked what I saw out of him.

The shots will fall - just has to cut out some of the mid-rangers he was taking, though I think some of that can be attributed to what was surrounding him on the floor.

So 4 assist is outstanding?

In 21 minutes, as a SF, yes. That's about 6 in a full game. Which would place him in elite status for assists at the SF position.

My main reason for giving a shit about preseason is to watch him, can't wait for the season to see him with more freedom and trust.

Is it me or does he seem more vocal out there? I noticed some patented Kobe "heyyyyyyy" when driving to the basket, trying to draw a foul. Not a bad move tbh.
Even his personality seems a bit more confident and relaxed, which isn't shocking because he showed some of this in his college days.

I also get the sense him and Kenneth Faried don't care for each other, something i noticed in the game and in the Rising Stars game. I could be wrong, just a hunch.

Watch the game in full blast volume and you will hear kawhi scream foul at every free throw he got. srs. Didn't notice it but kawhi really shouldn't bother with faried tbh, that phaggot supporter has reached it's potential

Kinda surprsing, but I guess he's settled with the team now and is just trying to be the guy he has always been in college.

Tony also promised to love Eva till death do them part...

But in all seriousness, I can easily see Kawhi hit the all-star level, as long as he gets the touches (and I think that he will).

Isn't it the fans of the NBA who get to vote in who goes to the All-Star game? Or is it just the starting line-up and the coaches vote in the bench? Cuz if its the fans, I don't think he will make it. The only reason TD and Parker get in is because of the fans in SA. If Spurs fans had a choice who would they vote in Duncan or Leonard. Me personally, Leonard since it would be his first one! Really rooting for KL!!!

It's just the starters, then the coaches pick the rest of the guys. And in case of injuries, it's the commissioner's call on who replaces the injured player.

People judging players in any way based on preseason games is just retarded. This goes both ways tbh not saying Leonard didn't look good but I do mean that just because he shot 5-13 means nothing in the fucking preseason, everyone should be aware of this by now unless you just started watching basketball.
