I feel like Eminem has gotten a little lazy over the past few years just to make money. This track feels like he want's to prove the point that he is still that guy from the Marshall Mathers LP.

Point proven.

r.kelly makes music for women too and he's my favorite artist of all time. LL cool J made several songs for women and he's one of my favorites too. i have never said drake was lyrically on the level of nas or jay but to say he isn't a good rapper is a reach.

Honestly, Em hasn't impressed me for a long time. Besides the BET cyphers, his style has been pretty wack to me. I'll never own any of his albums after the first MM

As far as Em biting styles.. It's clear that he used AZ's style for Infinite and he possibly got the angry white guy persona from Cage.

Song is pretty meh, imo. Which is a clear improvement from the utter dogshit Em's put out for the past decade.

The flow is nice but he's clearly biting Jay-Z over the top bravado schtick here. Also it's hilarious that he thinks all he has to do to prove he's still edgy is drop a couple "faggots" into a song

Two10Whitey

Premo always seems to bring the best out of every MC he works with, tbh.... DJ Premier and prime Eminem would have made an all-time classic record together, tbh.....

Clipper Nation
10-16-2013, 11:59 AM
Yeah, his flow is AZ-esque, but from a pure lyricism standpoint, it's still his best work, imo.... even though the "Slim Shady" persona brought Em fame and commercial success, it's always felt a bit forced to me.... by the Eminem Show and Encore, that schtick was run into the ground and he was simply trying too hard... if he'd get back to his style from Infinite and get in the studio with Preem, he'd officially be back, tbh....

I crack everytime I read/hear people bitching about Eminem not being as "edgy" or "badass" as he used to be. He's fucking 40 years old, of course he can't nor should he be as "edgy" as he was. He tried it on "Relapse" and the only thing he accomplished was to look/sound pathetic. I don't want to hear about how he wants to rape some of the new young pop stars that had came out and that aren't even old enough to be legal or how much of a pussy he thinks some other poor kid is. That shit was ok when he was a 20 something years old against folks of around his same age and had the novelty of shock on his side not now that he has been around for almost 15 years and is old as shit for that kind of stuff.

IMO, Recovery was good for this stage on his life, some more serious, good, easy to listen to tracks that every hip hop fan that isn't stucked on his teenage years can enjoy.

Don't you dare mention Twista in the same sentence as this crap. Twista's delivery is ten times better than this, he's Guinness World Records for a reason.

Sad to admit it but Eminem is plain old boring if he isn't talking about his fucked up life (which not much else can be said anymore) or beefing with someone. Dissing on pop stars is old news tbh.
