Mike D'Antoni's most distinctive China memory? The 'Ko-be!' chants that ticked off LeBron during the Olympics
"Probably the biggest one was when we walked into the stadium as a contingent, USA, and you had to march for about a quarter of a mile and they were three deep (surrounding us) the Chinese were lined up, all workers, volunteers and probably fans and when 550 athletes were marching, all you could hear was, Ko-be! Ko-be!" said Lakers coach Mike D'Antoni, who was an assistant for USA Basketball at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.
"That was pretty cool. I think it really ticked off LeBron (James) and some other guys (laughing), they go, Wait a minute, am I minced meat? But, it was pretty cool."

The China trip struck animosity but the London trip when Kobe was fucking all the ho's really did Lebron in. Kobe is a God amongst boys.

What about when Lebron threepeats as an alpha this year? He'll have more FMVPs, an actual threepeat as the #1 option(Kirby never did that) and he already has 4 times as many MVPs, higher career ppg,rpg,apg,spg,bpg,PER,WS,WS/48
Kirby fans are scared as fuck, Lebron, at 28, is more accomplished than Kirby was at the same age, both came out of HS, Lebron will finish with more pts rebs ast blks stls higher PER etc. and he most likely wins another FMVP and a ring or two, no one's gonna defend Kirby 5 years from now.

k, ill give him the respect he deserves if he wins 3 straight with 3 finals mvp, but imo he got really fuckin lucky in 6, dude should've been 1/4 in nba finals :lol
and I don't care about reg season mvp's nash has 2, shaq had 1, all you need to know about that shitty award :lol

MVP's are shitty because your boy Kirby only got to win one http://www.insidehoops.com/forum/images/smilies/kobe.jpg
Shaq only won 1 because he played alongside Kirby, who was a pretty good second option(better than 11-13 Wade, I'll give you that) from 02-04. Nash won 2 because he was the heart of that MDA run and gun system, he brought showtime back and won a lot of regular season games and averaged insane offensive numbers (17.2 ppg 3.8 rpg 11 apg 50,8% FG 43,6% 3PT 90,5% FT 62% TS, led the league in TS% in 06).

That was four years ago. I can only imagine how much more the Chinese fans love Kobe now that he's a cripple like Yao Ming.

Not me. Lebron is on pace for GOAT. He passes Kobe most likely with a chance at passing MJ and a stronger one for passing Magic.
I dont hate James. But he still needs to do more before I give him those spots.

LeBron has already exceeded Kobe in alpha rings. All he needs is to coattail a legend for 3 and he'll surpass Kobe

He may be ...
But if they both dropped dead I would give Kobe the career edge. That is not foolish a case can be made both ways ...
And I believe when i placed Lebron over Bird people jumped down my throat ...saying it was too early. But that is my list DPG not yours you cant argue my list, just share yours.
BTW, Whatup DPG?

And Kobe sucked at it when being defended by top perimeter players:
Bruce Bowen: 26.3 ppg on 42.6% shooting, including 27.8% from three, and 3.7 assists. These stats included the time when Bowen was getting 20 mpg in MIA. Counting only the days Bowen was with the Spurs getting consistent minutes, and Kobe at his absolute prime (02 to 09), Kobe was getting 27ppg on 42.5% shooting, including 28.5% from three.
Jason Kidd (who shuts down Kobe in 2011): 22.6 ppg on 42.6%/32.6%.
Trevor Ariza: 27.6 ppg on 45%/28.1%
Tony Allen: 27/42.4%/25.8%
Thabo Sefelosha: 24.5/42.7%/31%
Shane Battier: 28.6ppg/43.3%/32.9%
Tayshuan Prince: 25.8/43.1%/33.8%
As always, Kobo just made up for his efficiencies by jacking up more shots.

Hmmm ... so Kobe sucked at facing tough competition means that he is better than Lebron? WTF kind of logic is that?
Let me spell this out for you.
Lebron had better stats than Kobe overall
Yeah, that's because Kobe faced tough competition.
Yeah, and Kobe was horrible at it
That proved my point, Kobe had worse stats overall, and even worse stats when facing tough competition. Therefore, he is better than Lebron.
