I've always liked what I've seen from this kid. His D isn't bad and his O game has definitely improved season to season. All of you concerned about us not having a back up PG are forgetting why we drafted CJ.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that (if he hasn't already) CoJo will solidify his spot in the rotation as our backup PG.
Sorry Nando, I just don't like what I've seen from you.

I have hopes for Cojo too, plus I like his nickname. :lol
But seriously, if he doesn't pan out this season, then they will probably let him go. I think this season is make or break time for him.
And there is Kabongo waiting in the wings. I like his name too, by the way. :lol

I really do hope so because CJ has been underwhelming during this preseason.

CJ sucks
he's sucked since he came in the league. I wish it were not true, but let's face it, he has just a couple more years in this league and should probably go to Europe

Word.................
Cojo is terrible. He sucks so bad that Pop went away from him in the playoffs last year, for god's sake.

I hope this is the year Cojo becomes a solid role player for the team. I'm not sure but I think he's the same age now as George Hill in his rookie season. Hopefully the Spurs staff can develop Cojo as well as they did Hill.

Not willing to give up on the kid yet. He needs to play a bigger role to keep Tony fresh for the playoffs...hope he can pull through.

Which is why he can't get ahead of him on the depth chart and sucked in summer league and summer games as well..... Nandy > NO FUCKING player on the team.

based on what we've seen in the preseason, Pop will allow Kawhi to assume some of the ball handling when Parker is off the floor. Bello and Manu are also going to be used as initiators, along with Diaw, in the 2nd unit. it looks like it will be a backup pg by committee. Pop (rightfully) doesn't have the faith in CoJo or Nando right now. CJ has to be confident in his jumper, because once he hits one or two, it'll allow him to get to the rim where he's shown the ability to finish. He just doesn't have TP's ability to get there at will

Wrong, per par. Nando > Cojo, but Pop is blinded by his hatred of French nationals.

Wrong, per par. Nando > Cojo, but Pop is blinded by his hatred of French nationals. That's why there are 3 on the team right? Two have them have succeeded, but the wink link just won't cut it. I was pulling for Nando too, thought he looked good against that regular season Miami game. But I think it's clear Joseph is the better choice. Better defender, not a turnover machine, smart plays.

Pop gave Parker and Diaw a hard time in their early years. Tony Parker still doesn't get All-Star caliber minutes like he should and Diaw should be starting in place of Tiago. Pop is a hater. Remember how much shit Pop gave Tony in his first few years on the team, going as far as benching him in favor of Scrubby Claxton??? You can't deny the truth. Pop has an axe to grind and we all know it. The Popovich family originates from the Ukraine and he has an ax to grind against Western Europeans. It makes me sick!

The Spurs will keep De Crapo on the team for a few months and then they'll release him outright.

Not if it's true, fool.
I also never brought up race, you liar. I brought up nationality. Pop doesn't care if you're white or black; if you're a French national, he hates you.

Prove me wrong.
Is there any logical reason why Tony isn't playing 40 minutes per night and Boris isn't playing 30 MPG as our starting center? No, there isn't. Neither gets the minutes they deserve because of Pop's hatred of French people.

The only reason Joseph has any hype on ST is because timvp endorsed him last year, tbh..
He has shown flashes of being a decent backup PG, but minimal consistency..inconsistent jump shot, athleticism isn't special, trouble beating opponents off the dribble, etc..
Unfortunately, De Colo is even worse, tbh..

Tony is averaging the most minutes of any player on the team; it's actually ridiculous that you're using this argument. And since when has Diaw been a center? I'm feeling very trolled right now.

Tony should have averaged All-Star caliber minutes for the last 10 years, yet Pop insists on playing him only in the low to mid 30s per game. There's no reason Tony shouldn't play 40+ minutes per game. If Tony played that much, he would easily score in the mid-20s PPG and be in serious contention for the MVP Award. Unfortunately, Pop is a hateful French-hater and doesn't play him enough minutes, so he never has a shot at MVP.
Boris should be starting down low next to Timmy. There's really no room for debate on this one. Anyone with a brain realizes Diaw >>> Tiago.

Tony doesn't play 40 minutes a night because Pop is not Tom Thibodeau, a guy who overplays his stars and causes chronic injuries and ACL tears at a pretty alarming rate.
Tony is also not Lebron James or Jimmy Butler; he's a short and skinny PG who while fast is not particularly athletic or able to consistently play ridiculous minutes. Plus, the dude is 31.
Tony getting severely injured is also the end of the spurs playoff hopes. That can't be allowed to happen. In the finals, we saw what happens when Tony has to play injured. He doesn't play particularly well.
As for Boris, he's no more a center than Dejuan Blair is a center. And while I like Boris's game, I don't know if his conditioning would support playing 30MPG. Further, moving Splitter out of the starting lineup now is pretty much totally out of the question given the defensive success of the Tiago-Tim tandem.

If he hasn't done it in preseason against training camp fodder after 3 years in the spurs system, why would anyone expect him to turn it around during the regular season against real players?
If he hasn't figured it out by now, he's not going to.
Dude is gone after this year and should have a great career overseas...

I keep waiting for him to bust to another level, but he does not have it. Even with George Hill we saw flashes of a good player from early on. With Cory, it's been the same thing since he came into the league.
Solid D. Leadership skills. Not much else. :(
