The NSA spying scandal is causing an uproar in capitals around the world as revelations surface that the US intelligence agency has been spying on citizens of friendly countries in France and Mexico. In France the US ambassador was summoned to explain why French telephone data was recorded by the NSA between December and January of this year. The allegation was published in France’s paper of record Le Monde.

French Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius said Le Monde’s report on Monday that 70.3 million items of French telephone data were recorded by the NSA between December 10, 2012 and January 8, 2013 were “unacceptable”.

The NSA’s targets appeared to be individuals suspected of links to terrorism, but also people tied to French business or politics, the report said.”We have extremely useful cooperation with the United States in the struggle against terrorism, but this cooperation does not justify everything,” Fabius told reporters on the sidelines of a meeting with EU counterparts in Luxembourg.

The rampant criminality and antisocial behavior of America’s intelligence community has not only diminished American rule of law at home, but is leading to increasing friction internationally with our allies. It is well past time for us to reexamine the power of the NSA and friends.

We have already had the vote in Congress about defunding these criminal activities and it failed. What we will see now is window dressing and propaganda, to counter the continuing revelations and to reaffirm who actually has real power in the US.

Our Surveillance Industrial Complex is analogous to a cancer that has metastasized and is threatening the body politic if it continues to grow unchecked. Long past the time to pull the plug on our spying apparatus before it does more harm. The SIC appears to have become too big to manage.

We love to shake that pointy finger at people and proclaim our superiority. I’m pretty sure our hypocritical behavior is one of the things that makes us less likable.

Binney, Drake and Carmen Segrra all seem to have something in common. All were diligent, dedicated professionals from all reports. All were retaliated against by former employers for doing their jobs. None compromised their values of work ethic during or after their employment.

Binney and Drake have stories to tell of how after reporting waste and abuse of former employer to appropriate entities, they went through “fabrication hell” by the FBI and former employer. A flagrant abuse of power….

Segrra was wrongfully terminated by the NYFED for failing to not change/falsify her report’s findings on GS’s lack of conflict of interest policy, required by law. The incestuous relationship between the NYFED and Goldman Sachs cannot be overlooked just as the “fascist” behavior by the FBI, retaliation for exposing potential crimes, cannot be overlooked.

MSM is a limp effen dick!

Albert warned the world, then sought refuge in America. Albert was a whistleblower. Binney, Drake and Serrga are whistleblowers and have been illegally retaliated against. Snowdan now reside in Russia, while Albert came to America?

This is vile……..

My personal feelings on this is just about every country does it. That being said, if that is the case we shouldn’t be morally outraged when other countries do it to us. I don’t understand why countries don’t go on record saying “nothing personal, but our job is to look out for US interests and yours is to look out for ____’s interest, and we worry from time to time that those interests may not coincide.” Why honesty isn’t the best policy on this I do not understand.

Mexico knew that if you were in Lefty politics or a drug dealer America would be spying but come on Mexico’s Presidents are tame poodle’s who yap a bit about American imperialism even as they encourage American Imperialism. Just how Paranoid is America that they feel they have to spy on the President of Mexico?

Also the Mexican Ruling class can ignore any insult…until it becomes public. The Mexican ruling class will probably ignore this but if it were anyone else but America well this is the kind of thing that leads to revolutions and our ruling class knows this very well.
American spying is suppose to make America more secure at least for our ruling class I don’t think they will feel to secure to wake up one day and see a Commie neighbor to the South.
